Radar apparatus and method of determining sign of velocity

A radar apparatus which can simply determine the sign of velocity of an object is provided. Laser light reflected by the object undergoes quadrature optical heterodyne detection performed by mixers, optical detectors, and a π / 2 phase shifter, whereby I and Q component signals are output. A frequency analyzer performs FFT on a complex signal composed of the I component signal (real part) and the Q component signal (imaginary part) to thereby obtain its frequency spectrum. Since the frequency spectrum is calculated without being folded back even in a region where the frequency is negative, the sign of the Doppler frequency fd can be determined. When the Doppler frequency fd is positive, the sign of the velocity of the object is a direction toward the radar apparatus. When the Doppler frequency fd is negative, the sign of the velocity of the object is a direction away from the radar apparatus.

Measuring method and system based on image identification

The invention provides a measuring method based on image identification. The steps are that: shooting the images of a reference object and a to-be-detected object in the same shooting window, wherein the distance of the reference object and the shooting window and the distance of the to-be-detected object and the shooting window are the same; respectively calculating the occupied pixel number of the reference object and the to-be-detected object in the images; identifying the reference object, and acquiring the actual data of the reference object; confirming the corresponding actual data of each pixel inside the images according to the actual data of the reference data; and confirming the actual data of the to-be-detected object according to the corresponding actual data of each pixel. Due to the fact that the images of the reference object and the to-be-detected object with the same distance to the shooting window are shot in the same shooting window, according to the known actual data of the reference object and the pixel number of the reference object in the images, the corresponding actual data of each pixel in the images are calculated, and then, the pixel number of the to-be-detected object is combined, and therefore the actual data of the to-be-detected object can be confirmed.

Apparatus and method for measuring natural period of liquid

In an apparatus for measuring a natural period of liquid in a pressure chamber formed in a head device which is provided with a nozzle orifice communicated with the pressure chamber and an actuator which varies pressure of the liquid contained in the pressure chamber, a driver generates a plurality of drive signals, each of which drives the actuator to eject a liquid droplet from the nozzle orifice under a condition different from the conditions established by the other drive signals. A light emitter emits a light beam so as to intersect a space through which the liquid droplet passes. A light receiver receives the light beam which has been passed through the space. A first calculator calculates an ejection velocity of the liquid droplet based on a timing at which the actuator is driven and a change in a photo-receiving state of the light receiver, with regard to every drive signal. A second calculator calculates a natural period of the liquid based on a change in the ejection velocity which is obtained from the plural drive signals.
