154 results about "Compression fitting" patented technology

Compression fittings are used in plumbing and electrical conduit systems to join two tubes or thin-walled pipes together. In instances where two pipes made of dissimilar materials are to be joined (most commonly PVC and copper), the fittings will be made of one or more compatible materials appropriate for the connection. Compression fittings for attaching tubing (piping) commonly have ferrules (or olives in the UK) in them.

Nanoliter flow rate separation and electrospray device with plug and play high pressure connections and multi-sensor diagnostic monitoring system

A chromatography and fluidic device with connections capable of automated component changing, diagnostic leak and current sensing. The chromatography-electrospray device contains a chromatography column, a pre-column, a spray emitter, or other fluidic component imbedded within one or more inserts. The inserts are robotically placed in receiving hardware, and a “plug and playcompression fitting connection mechanism makes the fluidic seals in an automated fashion. A plurality of sensors capable of detecting leaks is situated in the device near leak-prone regions. The electrospray emitter has a current sensing electrode in proximity of the electrospray region, capable of detecting the electrospray current. In conjunction with an electronics system, these sensors allow for system and component diagnostics. The diagnostic information may then be used for manual or automated system repair.

Prefabricated in-wall water service box

A prefabricated in-wall water service box with a five sided deep drawn stainless steel enclosure that has an open side with a reservoir lip and three closed sides integral with a top and bottom so that a reservoir is formed that is drained through a drain hole into a stainless steel nipple that is welded to the bottom and extends downwardly from the drain hole while hot and cold water control valves are mounted inside the enclosure through holes to a fittings located outside the enclosure at its two side walls. A trim bezel with a planar facing flush with a mounting wall is secured to the enclosure when it is mounted to two studs by two mounting brackets affixed to the two side walls by stainless steel screws. The hot and cold water control valves are ninety degree stainless steel ball valves while the brass hot and cold water fittings are a ninety degree elbow connected to an extension nipple that can accept a sweated copper connection, a compression fitting and a direct pipe thread connection while the side walls, the bottom and the top are joined with the back wall by four ninety degree radius turns.

Cleaning Attachment for Water Hose

The cleaning attachment (10) for use with a water hose (14) includes an angle adapter (20), a water control valve (30), a quick connect coupling (40, 42), a first thread adapter (60), a debris screen, a second thread adapter (70), a compression fitting adapter (80), and a hollow wand (90). The cleaning attachment (10) is designed to act as a nozzle for directing and dispensing water from a conventional water hose (14). Specifically, the cleaning attachment (10) is designed for effectively cleaning air conditioner coils, particularly condenser coils and evaporator coils. Cleaning attachment (10) allows a user to clean a coil with a flow of water through openings in the coil, eliminating the conventional need to disassemble the coil. The cleaning attachment (10) may also be used for a variety of other purposes for which a flow of pressurized water is needed.

Viscoelastic liquid flow splitter and methods

A viscoelastic liquid flow splitter includes a flow splitter body having a first bore including a first bore outlet and a first bore inlet, and a second bore including a second bore outlet and a second bore inlet The bore inlets are substantially parallel to each other and the bore outlets diverge from each other at an angle. The flow splitter also includes a compression fitting having a first and a second tubular portion fluidically coupled to the first and second bore inlets where the tubular portions are configured to fluidically couple to a double barreled viscoelastic liquid dispensing syringe.

Rain tight fitting

A compression fitting that obtains a rain tight fit on electrical conduit. The compression fitting includes a tubular body having a threaded forward end for connection to a panel and a threaded rearward end for connection to a conduit. A standard lock nut and seal ring, or, alternately, a snap ring and a seal ring are used on the forward end for obtaining a rain tight fit of the forward end with a panel or junction box. A compression nut, compression ring, and two seal rings are used on the rearward end to secure a conduit thereto in a rain tight fit. A first seal ring is constructed of plastic and includes a V-shaped outer periphery. A second seal ring is typically constructed of a deformable metal such as aluminum and includes a V-shaped inner periphery. The rearward end of the tubular body includes a seat shaped to accept the second seal ring. Tightening the compression ring onto the tubular member forces the compression ring to compress the first and second seal rings against the seat in the rearward end of the tubular body. The adjacent surfaces of the V-shaped outer periphery of the first seal ring, the V-shaped inner periphery of the second seal ring, and the surface of the seat compress flush against each other and form a rain tight seal. The compression fitting of the present invention creates a secure rain tight seal that overcomes the shortcomings of prior art compression fittings for conduit, which typically feature a split ring arrangement for sealing the conduit against the fitting.

The refrigerant service port valve for air conditioners has a valve body defining a main fluid conduit adapted for insertion into a coolant line using compression fittings at opposite ends of the conduit. A pedestal is mounted on the exterior conduit wall. The pedestal has a bore therethrough forming a lower service passage that enters the main fluid conduit, and an internally threaded blind bore parallel to the lower service passage. A slider is mounted on the pedestal, the slider having a male quick connect fitting defining an upper service passage. The upper service passage may be aligned with the lower service passage in an open position to service the system, or the slider may be moved to align the upper service passage with the blind bore to access a setscrew, which is raised partially into the upper service passage to lock the valve in a closed position.

Diversion system and method

Methods are provided for installation of a rain diversion system including formation of a deflector with a machine placed above a forming machine dedicated to formation of a trough. As trough is run from a first machine, end caps are installed where appropriate, outlet sites are punched and outlets installed for joinder with downspouts, miters are cut and a cavity structure of the hanger is brought into place to mate a containment lip of the hanger with the containment shelf of the trough. Corresponding deflector is run from a second machine and the deflector is placed on the trough as deflector attachment cavities of the hanger are used to retain deflector. In alternative methods, one cavity retains the deflector 40 for conveyance to the installation location on the structure. In either case, the entire assembly may then be transported to a location on a lower level such as ground, for example, corresponding to the eventual installation location on the structure. The process is repeated until all assemblies of trough, hangers and deflector have been processed. Installers are then employed on ladders or other riser to position each length of assembled trough, hangers, and deflector into place against the structure where the assembly is fastened into place in at least two locations. This is simplified by the disclosed feature that allows compression fitting of the deflector into the appropriate cavities of the hanger.

Chemical agent monitoring system

A method and apparatus for sampling for the chemical warfare agent VX, where it is advantageous for the VX to be converted to its G-analog to facilitate aspirator induced movement of the sample through a sample line, to a sampling tube or to sample detection apparatus. A conversion tube assembly has a conversion tube member defining inlet and outlet openings and having a conversion filter therein, which is saturated with an A to G reagent for a chemical warfare agent of interest. The conversion filter assembly includes non-impregnated filter elements and the ends thereof and is retained in position intermediate to the ends of the conversion tube member by retainer elements, which may be tubes or rings. The conversion filter assembly is adapted to be received by a compression fitting or may be directly assembled to a sampling tube or sampling line.
