Pressure-sensitive degree control method and system for touchscreen-enabled mobile terminal

A pressure-sensitive degree control method and system of a mobile terminal including a touchscreen for controlling interaction degree of the touchscreen based on a pressure level of a touch are provided. The method includes detecting a pressure level of the touch made on the touchscreen, configuring an interaction degree of the user interface to be determined based on the pressure level, and controlling operations of the user interface according to the interaction degree.

Wound dressing with vacuum reservoir

A wound dressing apparatus includes a wound dressing member dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed. The wound dressing member including an internal vacuum reservoir and has a port in communication with the vacuum reservoir for applying subatmospheric pressure to the vacuum reservoir to facilitate removal of fluid from the wound bed. The wound dressing member includes a visual pressure indicator associated therewith for indicating a level of pressure within the vacuum reservoir. The visual pressure indicator includes color indicia having a plurality of colors corresponding to a condition of the pressure within the vacuum reservoir. The wound dressing member includes a lower absorbent member positionable adjacent the wound bed and an upper member which at least partially defines the vacuum reservoir. At least one of the top member and the lower absorbent member has the visual pressure indicator mounted thereto. The preferred visual pressure indicator includes an electronic position sensor. The visual pressure indicator further includes circuit means and visible alarm means. The circuit means is adapted to actuate the visible alarm means when the position sensor detects a relative positioning of the top member of the wound dressing member to provide a visual indication of the condition of the subatmospheric pressure within the vacuum reservoir.

Systems and methods for determining the location and pressure of a touchload applied to a touchpad

A computing device with a multi-touch touch interface having a plurality of rows of contact points and a plurality of columns of contact points. For each other row of contact points, every contact point in the row is connected to form a row sensor. For each other column of contact points, every contact point in the column that is not part of a row sensor is connected to form a column sensor. The contact points that are not part of a row sensor and not part of a column sensor are connected together to form at least one shape sensor. A computing device with a multi-touch touch interface having a plurality of contact points has at least one layer of piezoresistive material, an insulating structure disposed between the plurality of contact points and the piezoresistive material, and a gap between the plurality of contact points and piezoresistive material. A method of providing multi-layered password recognition for a computing device having a touch interface first provides a passcode associated with an alphanumeric symbol to the computing device. The alphanumeric symbol is associated with a passcode pressure level. A touch load is applied to the touch interface and a measured pressure level associated with the applied touch load is determined. Then it is determined whether the measured pressure level corresponds to the passcode pressure level associated with the alphanumeric symbol of the passcode.

Inline compensator for a floating drill rig

An apparatus and method for protecting against the problems associated with heave of a floating drilling rig are disclosed. The disclosed invention is a unique inline compensator in which a plurality of cylinders housed within a tubular housing and a plurality of low pressure and high pressure accumulators function together to provide a system for compensating for heave in the event a primary heave compensation system fails or becomes inoperative. The typical inline compensator of the present invention utilizes a plurality of hydraulic cylinders that act in opposite directions and that have different piston areas such that the piston rods of the cylinders are extended or retracted at different pressure levels to account for heave. The typical inline compensator of the present invention is self-contained and compact enough to fit in the limited space available on a floating drilling structure. Further, a pair of inline compensators of the present invention can be utilized with coiled tubing operations. In such a case, the inline compensators will not interfere with the tooling necessary to conduct the coiled tubing operations.

Apparatuses and methods for evaluating a person for a sleep system

A method for evaluating a person for a sleep system, the method including: while the person is not positioned on an evaluating member, adjusting a pressure of a comfort layer inflatable member disposed within a comfort layer of the evaluating member to an initial comfort value; positioning the person on the evaluating member in a first position; while the person is positioned on the evaluating member in the first position, measuring a pressure of the comfort layer inflatable member as a first measured comfort value; calculating a difference between the first measured comfort value and the initial comfort value as comfort pressure 1; calculating a first optimal pressure level for the comfort layer inflatable member using comfort pressure 1; and recommending a sleep support member for the person using the calculated first optimal pressure level for the comfort layer inflatable member and using data measuring quality of sleep.
