46 results about "Common name" patented technology

In biology, a common name of a taxon or organism; also known as a vernacular name (local name), English name, colloquial name, trivial name, trivial epithet, country name, popular name, or farmer's name; is a name that is based on the normal language of everyday life; this kind of name is often contrasted with the scientific name for the same organism, which is Latinized. A common name is sometimes frequently used, but that is by no means always the case.

Hidden link dynamic key manager for use in computer systems with database structure for storage of encrypted data and method for storage and retrieval of encrypted data

A computer system (20) having a security domain (22), at least one client business domain (26), and a plurality of client terminals (34) utilizes a hidden link dynamic key manager (24, 84) and a database structure that includes encrypted data entities (30C, 30D) and a security identification attribute (32) for storage of encrypted data. Methods for encrypting data and for storing, decrypting, and retrieving encrypted data operate on the computer system (20), which also includes an information database (62) and a key database (44). The key database (44) is isolated from the information database (62). The hidden link key manager is stored in the security domain (22) and includes a system key manager (84) operable to generate system keys with system key common names and an encryption key manager (24) operable to generate encryption keys having encryption key identifications. The key managers (24, 84) operate on a key server (40), which is mirrored by a secondary key server (42). A general security manager (82) also operates on the key server (40) to control access to the security domain (22). The security information attribute (32) is stored with a persistent data entity (30A) that is associated with the other encrypted data entities (30C, 30D) by a database schema. The encryption key identification (112) for the encryption key used to encrypt the data entities (30C, 30D) is encrypted by a system key and then stored as part of the security information attribute (32). The system key common name hash value (114) is also stored in the security information attribute (32). The information data entities (30) are stored on the information database (62), but the encryption key identification (153), encryption key (154), system key common name hash value (156, 157), and system key common name (158) are stored in the key database (44) inside the security domain (22). The system key itself is stored on a Smart Card reader (56) inside the security domain.

Virtualizing network-attached-storage (NAS) with a compact table that stores lossy hashes of file names and parent handles rather than full names

Multiple Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliances are pooled together by a virtual NAS translator, forming one common name space visible to clients. Clients send messages to the virtual NAS translator with a file name and a virtual handle of the parent directory that are concatenated to a full file-path name and compressed by a cryptographic hash function to generate a hashed-name key. The hashed-name key is matched to a storage key in a table. The full file-path name is not stored, reducing the table size. A unique entry number is returned to the client as the virtual file handle that is also stored in another table with one or more native file handles, allowing virtual handles to be translated to native handles that the NAS appliance servers use to retrieve files. File movement among NAS servers alters native file handles but not virtual handles, hiding NAS details from clients.

Delegated Certificate Authority

A digital certificate, used in a computing system, includes a distinguished name (DN) field and a common name (CN) field within the DN field. The CN field contains a resource identifier that contains information identifying each of a plurality of resources in the certification path of the digital certificate. The resource identifier can be a hierarchical identifier that specifies an identity of a trusted root resource, and an identity of a resource issuing the digital certificate. The resource identifier can contain identifiers of resources in a certification path between the trusted root resource and the resource issuing the digital certificate. The certification path leads to a trusted source for the computing system.

Streamlined CSR Generation, Certificate Enrollment, and Certificate Delivery

The process of acquiring SSL certificates for enterprise SSL customers is improved by reducing the number of steps used to acquire the SSL certificate and streamlining the process. An on-line CSR generator on the certificate enrollment form is used to submit the customer information (i.e. Common Name, Organizational Unit, Organization, City / Locality, State / Province, and Country Code) and generate the CSR. By making the CSR generation part of the enrollment process, the administrator can use the same enrollment form to submit the customer information along with the contact information pertinent to the enterprise.

Grouping search results into a profile page

Methods are disclosed for grouping search results into a profile page. A search engine accepts a user search string and generates a first set of results. In response to the first set of results, a query generator generates queries corresponding to a number of entities sharing a common name. The search engine executes the queries, returning responsive data sets. An entity resolver merges the data sets to ensure that each unique entity is represented by a single data set. A threshold may be defined such that results meeting a certain level of similarity are merged. A profile generator creates a profile page for each unique entity using biographical data contained in the respective data sets, and generates a results page containing links to each unique profile. The results page is then sent to the user for display on a graphical user interface.

System and method for identifying namespaces

Described is a system and method that enable the incorporation of one namespace into another namespace while avoiding name collisions by defining namespaces with a common name and a unique identifier. In accordance with the invention, a namespace may incorporate another namespace by unique identifier and assign an alias to that incorporated namespace. The use of the alias provides a developer with the flexibility to reference the imported namespace and its declarations by common, understandable, or human-meaningful names. In addition, name collisions between the imported namespace and local declarations are avoided by the uniqueness provided by the unique identifier. Furthermore, by way of re-exports, multiple parallel namespace hierarchies can be formed over the same definitions to reflect multiple parallel taxonomies.

Patient search with common name data store

Computerized systems and methods facilitate patient searches by identifying instances in which search input includes a common name that may return a large number of search results. A common name data store is generated that includes common names identified in a patient database. When a user enters search input into a patient search tool, the common name data store is queried to determine if the search input matches a common name. If so, a notification may be provided to the user to indicate the search input matches a common name. In some instances, a search may not be allowed on the patient database if the search input matches a common name.
