51 results about "Color bleeding" patented technology

In computer graphics and 3D rendering, color bleeding is the phenomenon in which objects or surfaces are colored by reflection of colored light from nearby surfaces. This is a visible effect that appears when a scene is rendered with Radiosity or full global illumination, or can otherwise be simulated by adding colored lights to a 3D scene.

Method and apparatus for reducing intercolor bleeding in ink jet printing

In an ink jet printing process, a desired vacuum is applied to the back side of a print substrate with proper feedback and control. The optimum vacuum exerts a suction force on ink dispersed on the front side of the print substrate to accelerate penetration of the ink into the print substrate and to reduce smear and intercolor bleeding. In addition, the vacuum may be applied in the ink jet printing process in combination with various other techniques including heating of the print substrate at any stage of printing process including before, during, after, and combinations thereof and delaying the time between ink dispersing of two different inks as in the checkerboard printing method. The employment of proper vacuum, inks, and printheads including partial-width or full-width array printheads allows a fast speed multi-color ink jet printing process to be carried out on a print substrate to give high resolution (e.g., 600 spi) multi-color images with good print quality.

Page background estimation using color, texture and edge features

An algorithm for estimating which pixels belong to the background of a scanned page. The algorithm is particularly designed to handle situations in which the page background varies in color / intensity, as is case when bleed-through artifacts from the reverse side of the page appear in the background. In determining background regions, including properly classifying bleed-through artifacts regions as such, the algorithm uses multiple local and global criteria for making the determination. In addition to being able to find large connected pieces of background, the algorithm is also able to find isolated islands of background by analyzing transition characteristics of neighboring regions. Regions are identified on the basis of similar local features and also by the nature of transitions between foreground regions that do not directly share a boundary. An adaptive white-point adjustment technique based on identified background regions improves the perceived quality of the printed output.

Color ink-jet recording apparatus and method and method of processing image data

In color ink-jet recording, even if a black image is recorded adjacent to a color image, the present invention prevents bleeding between black ink and color ink to achieve a high recording grade. In a divided recording method, as division patterns used to allot image data to each recording scan, different division patterns are provided for black image data and for color image data. The division patterns for black and another color used during the same scan have different allotment rates so that the amount of image data allotted to the same scan varies between black and the other colors. As a result, the amount of image data recorded during the same scan also varies between black and the other colors. This reduces the frequency with which the black ink and the color ink are provided adjacent to each other during the same scan.
