The invention discloses a target tracking method based on a binary sensor Ad Hoc network. The target tracking method adopted by the invention comprises the following steps that: firstly, a sensor network system is deployed in site for carrying out network initialization and information updating; then, a sensor network node judges whether to trigger the position calculation or not; if the triggering conditions are satisfied, the node calculates the target position in the local place, and sends back the calculation results to a gateway gathering node of the sensor network system through a shortest route; and finally, a computer in the monitoring management center is responsible for collecting target tracking results of each node for forming the moving track of the tracked target. The method is characterized in that a vibration sensor uses an Ad Hoc network mode for forming a network system, realizes the optimization of two indexes: the target tracking precision and the calculation cost, the problem of large calculation amount is avoided, and in addition, the positioning precision is high. The method is also applicable to the network system formed by other binary detection sensors deployed outdoors, and realizes the tracking on moving vehicles or personnel.

A parameter estimation method for binary sensor networks

A parameter estimation method for binary sensor networks is provided. A binary sensor node is used to replace the traditional high-precision sensor node, the on-line estimation of unknown parameters is realized by using a 1-bit measurement value, based on sparse penalty maximum likelihood optimization, combining with expectation maximization EM and least mean square LMS, and taking into account the sparsity of unknown parameters, the accuracy of binary sensor network parameters is estimated, which effectively reduces the use cost of sensors, and has good robustness and practicability.

A quantum detector array is provided. The array includes a semiconductor substrate and an epitaxial layer on the semiconductor substrate. The epitaxial layer includes a plurality of binary quantum sensor elements operable in breakdown mode to generate signals, logic elements, and a digital processing circuit. The binary quantum sensor elements each have a radiation-sensitive drift region and amplification region with a pn junction for detecting radiation from a radiation-emission source. The logic elements are each electrically interconnected to a corresponding binary sensor element of the plurality of binary quantum sensor elements for resetting the corresponding binary sensor element, generating digital information based on the signals received from the corresponding binary sensor element, and outputting the digital information. The digital processing circuit carries out digital processing of logic and time signals from the binary sensor elements.

A wastewater monitoring system uses a digital camera in a fixed location in a wastewater pipe. The digital camera is coupled to a binary sensor that provides a binary trip signal that indicates when the sensor detects wastewater in the pipe exceeding a defined threshold. When the digital camera detects a trip signal from the binary sensor, operating logic in the digital camera changes frequency for taking pictures. The digital camera preferably adds visible data to a stored digital photograph file that may include any or all of the following: camera serial number, state of sensor(s), temperature, battery level in the digital camera, and battery level in the sensor(s). The visible data is stored in the digital photograph file such that the visible information is overlaid on the digital photograph so it is visible to the eye of the person viewing the digital photograph.
