Binned remembered sets

A garbage collector that performs collection incrementally in accordance with the train algorithm employs remembered sets to keep track of locations where references to objects in respective car sections were written. The remembered sets are implemented as multi-level hash tables. The entries in the top-level hash table are pointers to constituent hash tables in which entries representing the reference locations are placed. When a constituent hash table becomes full, the collector thins it by allocating a new constituent table, transferring some of the previously full table's entries to the new table, and dividing further reference-location-representing entries among them in accordance with a hash function having an expanded range.

Electrical connector for connecting a flexible printed circuit to a rigid printed circuit board

An electrical connector for joining a flexible printed circuit to a rigid printed circuit board comprises a connector housing adapted to be mounted within an opening in the printed circuit board and including a circuit connecting portion for receiving the flexible printed circuit, a plurality of connection terminals mounted within the housing and terminating in surface mount portions wherein upper surfaces of the surface mount portions are adapted to make contact with corresponding circuit traces on a lower surface of the printed circuit board, a ground terminal extending outwardly from each side of the connector housing wherein the upper surface of the ground terminals are coplanar with the upper surfaces of the surface mount portions of the connection terminals, and a circuit fastener rotatably mounted for up and down movement on the connector housing adapted to secure the flexible printed circuit within the circuit connecting portion of the housing, whereby when the electrical connector is placed in the opening of the circuit board the overall profile of the connected portion is reduced by the thickness of the circuit board.

Carpet clamp

The tang portion of a clamp member of the carpet clamp deforms elastically, and thus the portion which holds a wire harness can be moved. Further, the tang portion is pressed (deformed) in the direction of a bottom wall by a groove portion. Thus the tang portion fits to the wire harnesses having different diameters. Further, in the case where the wire harness has a small diameter, the tang portion of the clamp member deforms elastically, and thus the portion which holds the wire harness is moved, and thus the outside dimension of the carpet clamp becomes substantially small in accordance with the wire harness having a small diameter. The carpet clamp has a height which is smaller by a dimension than in the case where the wire harness has a large diameter.

Motion damper

The motion damper includes a damper wall, damper stages, and a damper head. The damper wall and damper stages are successively smaller in size and have a nested relationship. The damper wall and damper stages are each flexibly attached to an adjacent damper stage or the damper wall such that the damper stages may deploy in a telescopic fashion away from the damper wall. The damper head is attached to a smallest damper stage. As a result, the damper stages change in position relative to the damper wall and relative to each other to absorb the kinetic energy of objects attached to the damper head and damper wall.

Surgical Auxiliary Tool for Covering of Exo-Serous Membrane Exposed Tumor and Method of Preventing Dissipation of Tumor Cell Attributed to Intra-Body Cavity Surgical Manipulation Therewith

A convenient surgical auxiliary tool for covering of exo-serous membrane exposed tumor, capable of preventing any man-caused dissipation of tumor cells attributed to surgical manipulation in the digestive organs, etc. There is provided a surgical auxiliary tool comprising a pair of frame members having the respective free end portions rotatably coupled with each other; an accommodation bag having its rim of opening portion fixed to the coupled pair of frame members; and a locking part disposed at substantially the center of the frame members and capable of maintaining the closed state of the pair of frame members. By virtue of this construction, the intestine on the periphery of an area of infiltration of the serous membrane can be pinched by means of the pair of frame members having the respective free end portions rotatably coupled with each other. Simultaneously, the intestine on the periphery of an area of infiltration of the serous membrane can be covered by the accommodation bag having its rim of opening portion fixed to the frame members. Further, the surgical auxiliary tool can be taken out from the body cavity inside to the body cavity outside while surely maintaining the state of covering the intestine on the periphery of an area of infiltration of the serous membrane by means of the locking part capable of maintaining the closed state of the coupled pair of frame members.
