A marker pen storage system comprising a housing having a plurality of receptacles for receiving marker pens, each receptacle formed to include an upper and lower cavity, the upper cavity located at the opening of the receptacle and formed to include a first upper inclined section and a first lower inclined section, wherein the first upper inclined section has a greater incline than the first lower inclined section, said lower cavity sized to receive a writing end of a marker pen, receptacle openings are formed immediately adjacent so as to create guidance walls between each receptacle, and prevent a flat upper surface from being formed between adjacent receptacles, and a snap ring formed between the upper and lower cavities, wherein a relatively airtight seal is formed around the writing end of a marking pen when it is completely inserted into the lower cavity so as to prevent circulation of air to the writing end of an inserted marking pen, and the snap ring produces a snap feel and sound when a marker pen is completely inserted into the lower cavity. Guidance walls between the receptacles enables a user to properly insert a marker pen without having a direct line of site to the proper receptacle, thereby making the marker pen holder very easy for young children to use and put away the marker when it is time to clean up. Also, the snap ring prevents markers from spilling out of the holder, which is very useful when marker pens are carried in children's backpacks to and from school or the like.

A desk lamp includes an organizer for desktop items and stand for electronic devices. The lamp has a support with a surface for receiving an organizer. The organizer has at least one or more cavities. The walls of one or more adjacent cavities define one or more slots which can be shaped to receive an electronic device. The desk lamp further includes a neck for coupling a terminal housing to the support. A bulb socket is attached to the terminal housing to receive a light bulb. A power cord electrically couples the bulb socket to a battery compartment or to an electrical plug. According to another aspect of the present invention, a kit includes a container and a first tabbed note assembly. The container includes at least a first compartment, and the first tabbed note assembly includes a first tabbed note and a first fastener. The first tabbed note has a first opening defined therein, and the first fastener is at least partially disposed in the first opening. The first tabbed note is positioned, or otherwise contained, at least partially in the first compartment. In one embodiment, the kit includes a divider that is inserted at least partially in the container such that the first compartment and a second compartment are defined at least partially by the divider.

An expandable storage case is disclosed for storing various writing utensils. The storage case includes a base, an inner carousel, a top carousel, and a lid. The base, the inner carousel, and the top carousel are connected in a telescoping manner such that the storage case may be expanded from a collapsed position to an expanded, in-use position. The storage case includes a locking mechanism to selectively secure the storage case in the expanded position.

A magnetically self balancing pen and base includes a base member housing a disk magnet and a concentric ring magnet having a predetermined inside diameter. The pen assembly has a barrel, an elongated ink cartridge with a magnetically attractable tip, and an annular magnet disposed inside the barrel and around the elongated ink cartridge. A dry-erase marker support system relating to providing a dry-erase marker and dry-erase-marker-holder, attachable to a mirror, for use in writing dry-erasable messages onto a non-porous vertical mirror surface. Preferably, the system comprises a themed decorative method and support base that attaches by suction cup to the mirror and fixably retains the dry-erase marker cap so that only the dry-erase marker needs removal from the cap to be ready for use.

An apparatus is disclosed for an implement retainer comprising a holder having a base and a plurality of flexible pins projecting from the base. The holder is flexible and manufactured of a resilient material. The pins have bulbous, conical, convex tips, and holes may be disposed between the pins to isolate and suspend the pointy tips of implements. The pins also have a frusto-conical convex base which guides and retains the end of an implement. A low bridging wall is provided between each adjacent pin which guides an implement tip into the hole and also retains the end of an implement. In use, implements are inserted between the pins and contact against the bulbous, convex tip of the pins, which are displaced by the implement, then press against the implement, thereby retaining the implement in place.

A penholder having a retractable tether for holding a pen in an upright position adjacent a vertical portion of the stand extending the when not in use for easily finding the pen. The tether extends when the pen is in use but does not interfere with use since little or no tension is exerted on the tether when it is extended.
