Dome-Shaped Contact and Multi-Step Operation Electrical Switch Incorporating the Same

The present invention relates to a multi-step operation electrical switch having an elastic conductive plate, which is deformed to establish an electrical contact when a pressing force is applied thereto and is restored to the initial state to break the electrical contact when the pressing force is removed.According to the present invention, the elastic plate has a plurality of dome portions formed integrally therewith, each of the dome portions bulges in the direction opposite to the direction in which the elastic plate is pressed and is depressed by the pressing force applied thereto. The applied pressing force varies with the dome portions. In order to prevent an electrical contact from being established when no pressing force is applied to the elastic plate, spacer portions are necessary. According to the present invention, inclined spacer portions are provided along the outer peripheries of a first and a second dome portions, respectively.Therefore, since the pressing force is temporarily reduced when one dome portion is depressed, a click feel can be provided. Since the pressing force varies with the dome portions, a multi-step operation can be achieved. In addition, since the elastic plate has a plurality of dome portions and a plurality of spacer portions formed integrally therewith, the overall size of the switch can be readily miniaturized.

A process for producing turbine rotors and other large rotating components of power-generating gas turbine engines using powder metallurgy techniques. The process involves forming a powder of a gamma prime or gamma double prime precipitation-strengthened nickel-based superalloy whose particles are about 0.100 mm in diameter or smaller. The powder is placed in a can and consolidated to produce an essentially fully dense consolidation, which is then hot worked to produce a billet of a size sufficient to form a forging of at least 2300 kg. The billet is forged at a temperature and strain rate to produce a forging with a uniform fine grain of ASTM 10 or finer. Thereafter, the forging may undergo a heat treatment to achieve a desired balance of mechanical properties while retaining a uniform grain size of ASTM 10 or finer.

A sheet discharging device has a conveying weight for pressing a conveyed sheet to a caterpillar belt. The pressing force of the weight is increased both when the sheet is discharged from the caterpillar belt to a placement tray, and when the sheet is switched back and conveyed to the bottom of the caterpillar belt. The pressing force of the weight is increased concurrently with the driving of a paddle provided at an outlet of the placement tray. The pressing force is increased by a rubber piece provided on a paddle driving shaft that rotates out of phase with the paddle, so as to engage and press the conveying weight at a predetermined time. The device is capable of reliably conveying a wide variety of sheets onto a tray and transferring the conveyed sheets to a predetermined tray position.

The control section retains the switches in the ON state for a period which is determined based on the discharge period specifying control data stored in a register and the count signal from a counter. A voice coil motor, to which the current is supplied, turns the actuator in the unloading direction to retract the actuator to the ramp.
