Polarizing plate

A polarizing plate which is substantially free from a decrease in the degree of polarization in a high-humidity high-temperature atmosphere, a hue change, and light leakage. The polarizing plate comprises a polarizing film based on polyvinyl alcohol and the following protective film which consists mainly of a cycloolefin resin, has the following anchoring agent coating comprising two layers, and is superposed on at least one side of the polarizing film with the following adhesive. The protective film has an optical in-plane phase difference change of 5 nm or less through 24-hr standing at 80 DEG C and had a wetting tension of 500 mu N / cm or higher (23 DEG C) on the side to be anchor-coated. The anchoring agent coating comprises a first layer formed from a polyisocyanate and a polyester polyol and / or polyether polyol and a second layer made of polyvinyl alcohol. The adhesive comprises polyvinyl alcohol.
