The invention discloses a
metal rivet nut and a
machining process thereof. The
metal rivet nut adopts an integrated structure, and comprises a nut head and a riveted
pipe, wherein the nut head is positioned at the top end of the riveted
pipe; the riveted
pipe comprises a riveted pipe upper layer and a riveted pipe lower layer; an internal thread is tapped on the inner wall of the riveted pipe upper layer; and the pipe wall thickness of the riveted pipe lower layer is smaller than that of the riveted pipe upper layer. The
machining process comprises the following steps: (1)
cutting a
metal pipe till a
fixed length is reached; (2) selecting one end of the
cut metal pipe for reaming; (3)
punching the reaming part into a plane, so as to prepare the nut head; (4)
machining the internal thread on the inner wall at the end, close to the punched plane, of the
cut metal pipe; and (5) carrying out inner wall finishing at the end, far away from the punched plane, of the metal pipe, and skiving the pipe wall at such end, so as to prepare the riveted pipe lower layer. The metal
rivet nut and the
machining process provided by the invention are applicable to machining of various metal containers, overcome the defect that a metal intercrystalline structure is damaged in a
welding process, and are particularly applicable to the inner container and the end cover of a
water heater, so that the connector part of the
water heater can be long in service life and resistant to
corrosion.
