Introducer for prosthetic heart valve

The present disclosure concerns embodiments of an introducer that is adapted to facilitate insertion of a prosthetic device, such as a prosthetic heart valve, into a patient's vasculature. In one embodiment, the introducer comprises an elongated body defining a central lumen extending between distal and proximal ends of the body. The introducer body can also have a longitudinally extending gap extending along the length of the body between the distal end proximal ends. The gap in the introducer allows a user to place the introducer around implant sutures by passing the sutures through the gap and into the central lumen. Similarly, the gap allows the introducer to be easily removed from the sutures and / or a delivery device by passing them outwardly through the gap.

Universal coupling

A coupling mechanism for a molten metal processing system includes an elongated shaft having an upper axial end and a lower axial end. A passage having a torque facilitating shape extends through at least a portion of the shaft. The upper end of the shaft tapers inwardly and forms a tapered seat. At least one channel is machined into an outer surface of the upper end of the shaft. The channel has a first portion extending longitudinally downward from a top surface of the shaft and a second portion extending from the first portion at an angle greater than 90.degree. relative to the first portion. A coupling member, for coupling the shaft to a drive system, includes a body having an annular wall which defines a cavity. At least one locking member is disposed on an inner surface of the annular wall which is adapted to cooperate with the channel in the shaft. The locking member is aligned with the first portion of the channel and the shaft is slid into the cavity. When the locking member reaches a bottom surface of the first portion of the channel, the shaft is turned less than one third of a rotation so that the locking member travels partially across the second portion of the channel thereby pulling the shaft upward. The cavity of the coupling member tapers outwardly forming a mouth which engages the tapered seat of the shaft in a sealing relationship.

Adhesive sheet

An adhesive sheet is disclosed including a flexible substrate and an adhesive layer formed on at least one of the main surfaces of the flexible substrate. The adhesive sheet further includes a plurality of microscopic holes connecting the opposing surfaces of the sheet and being generally perpendicular to them. Such adhesive sheet is permeable by air and allows good bubble escapability when the sheet is applied to an article. Sufficient permeability of the sheet to air is achieved with microscopic size holes installed in modest areal densities, hence the appearance and functionality of the film surface are not significantly adversely impacted. One intended use of the subject invention is for tinting films used to reduce light transmission in windows for use in buildings and automobiles. In this application visual appearance of the film is paramount. Another intended application of the subject invention is for antireflective film which is applied to electronic computer displays (flat panel, cathode ray tube) to reduce unwanted ambient light reflection and to improve contrast.

Sensor-type package and fabrication method thereof

A sensor-type package and a fabrication method thereof are provided. A sensor-type chip is mounted on a substrate and is electrically connected to the substrate via bonding wires.
