An engine starting system for a gas turbine engine is provided, the engine starting system comprising: a gas turbine engine including rotational components comprising an engine compressor, an engine turbine, and a rotor shaft operably connecting the engine turbine to the engine compressor, wherein each rotational component is configured to rotate when any one of the rotational components is rotated; an electro-pneumatic starter operably connected to at least one of the rotational components, the electro-pneumatic starter being configured to rotate the rotational components; an electric drive motor operably connected to the electro-pneumatic starter, the electric drive motor being configured to rotate the rotational components through the electro-pneumatic starter; and a motor controller in electronic communication with the electric drive motor, the motor controller being configured to command the electric drive motor to rotate the rotational components at a selected angular velocity for a selected period of time.

Environmentally friendly filter cartridge

A filter cartridge which is environmentally friendly in that it is made up of components which are all incinerateable. The ends of a filter element are sealed using potting compound and plastic endcaps. The upper endcap, which is closed, has a pressure relief aperture associated therewith to prevent bowing. In a plugged filter condition the high-downward pressure introduced on the upper endcap is compensated by providing the cartridge with centering ribs which bottom on an associated ledge in the housing to provide a positive stop for the top endcap, preventing it from being driven down into and through the filter element. Rubber gaskets are associated with the respective endcaps, and are reliably secured to the endcaps by being snap fit into grooves molded into the plastic of the endcaps. The lower endcap utilizes a simple radial seal gasket which is both highly effective and also positioned to avoid structural crushing forces on the cartridge. A keying system prevents the installation of improper filters.

Semiconductor device

To provide a semiconductor device capable of preventing the bowing of the substrate, and having a semiconductor layer of a III-V group compound of a nitride system with excellent crystallinity. The semiconductor layer of the III-V group compound of the nitride system whose thickness is equal to or less than 8 mum, is provided onto a substrate made of sapphire. This reduces the bowing of the substrate due to differences in a thermal expansion coefficient and a lattice constant between the substrate and the semiconductor layer of the III-V group compound of the nitride system. An n-side contact layer forming the semiconductor layer of the III-V group of the nitride system has partially a lateral growth region made by growing in a lateral direction from a crystalline part of a seed crystal layer. In the lateral growth region, dislocation density restricts low, therefore, regions corresponding to the lateral growth region of each layer formed onto the n-side contact layer has excellent crystallinity.

The peripheral frame is secured along two seams so that it is flat, smooth, and immovable. The seam where the peripheral frame is connected to the side layer creates a circumferential, horizontal indentation or groove giving the mattress an appearance that mimics a traditional two-layered pillow-top mattress.
