Time-temperature indicator device and method of manufacture

A time-temperature indicator label for measuring the length of time to which a product has been exposed to a temperature above a pre-determined temperature is provided. The period of time of exposure is integrated with the temperature to which the indicator is exposed. The label is a composite of a plurality of layers adapted to be adhered at its underside to a product container. The label includes a printable surface layer, a longitudinal wicking strip that is adhered underneath the surface layer substantially at the opposite extremities only of the wicking strip and a lower substrate layer forming an envelope with said surface layer. A heat-fusible substance, which melts and flows above a pre-determined temperature, is applied on the surface of the wicking strip contiguous to at least one of the ends of the wicking member. When the heat-fusible substance is exposed to a temperature above the pre-determined temperature, the heat-fusible substance flows along the length of the wicking member. The label has a printable surface layer and is sealed at its peripheral edge to the peripheral edge of the substrate layer. These layers encapsulate the wicking member and the heat-fusible substance. The surface layer is provided with a sight window at an intermediate location over the wicking member through which the progress of flow on the wicking member is observed.

Intelligent refrigerator for storing pharmaceutical product containers

Intelligent refrigerator system for storing pharmaceutical product containers, such as vials, ampules, syringes, bottles, medication tubes, blister packs and cartons, at the point of dispensing. Embodiments of the invention use product identification technology, such as radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags and readers, to uniquely identify containers as they are added to or removed from the cold storage compartment of the refrigerator, and automatically retrieve from a local or remote database a variety of details associated with the containers and their contents, such as manufacturing data, expiration dates, time out of refrigeration, inventory levels, safety information, usage statistics, known contraindications and warnings, etc. If the details indicate that there is a problem with a particular pharmaceutical (e.g., that it is counterfeit, expired, suspect, spoiled, recalled or almost depleted), then a message or warning is automatically delivered to a human operator via an attached output device, such as a display screen, speaker or printer. Embodiments of the invention may also be configured to monitor and report temperature faults, power failures and other anomalies associated with the refrigerator or cold storage compartment.

Portable cooled merchandizing unit with customer enticement features

A portable cooled merchandising unit including a product container assembly, a door assembly, a cooling assembly, a customer enticement device, and a power unit. The product container assembly defines an interior region for containing products. The cooling assembly is connected to the product container assembly and includes a powered cooling device to cool the interior region. The enticement device is adapted to encourage customer interest in the merchandising unit and includes a powered component. The power unit includes a power supply electrically connectable to an external power source, with each of the powered cooling device and the power component of the enticement device being electrically coupled to the power supply. With this configuration, the common power supply serves to power both the cooling assembly as well as the customer enticement device. In some embodiments, the cooling assembly includes a thermoelectric device.

Oil seal spring full-automatic sorting system and method based on image detection method

The invention belongs to the image test technology and image processing technical field and relates to an oil seal spring full-automatic sorting system. The system comprises a glass turntable, a collecting and processing component and a sorting component, wherein the collecting and processing component contains a camera with a zoom lens, an LED backlight and a computer; the camera is used to collect the image of an oil seal spring to be detected in a collection area and send the image to the computer; the computer processes and analyzes the collected image of the oil seal spring to obtain the characteristic quantity data and detect judgment of the spring, generate a product sorting signal according to the characteristic quantity data and the detect judgment, and send the sorting signal to the PLC controller; the sorting component comprises the PLC controller, a sub-quality product picking mechanism, a sub-quality product container and the like; and the picking mechanism picks the sub-quality products in a picking area under the control of the PLC controller. The invention also provides a sorting method using the sorting system. The system and method of the invention are simple and efficient, thus the characteristic detection and defect evaluation of the oil seal spring are easy to realize.
