Processes for geometric isomerization of halogenated olefins

Disclosed are processes for the conversion of isomerizable halogenated C2-C6 olefins from one geometric form to a more preferred geometric form. Preferred process aspects involve converting C2-C6 olefin in a cis-form to a trans-form under conditions effective to convert at least about 50 percent, and even more preferably at least about 70 percent, of the cis-form compound to the trans-form compound. In preferred embodiments the C2-C6 olefin comprises tetrafluoropropene, with cis-1,3,3,3 tetrafluoropropene (cis-HFO-1234ze) being converted, preferably at high conversion rates and high selectivity, to trans-1,3,3,3 tetrafluoropropene (trans-HFO-1234ze). In preferred embodiments the conditions effective to achieve the desired high levels of conversion and selectivity include exposing the feed to a metal based catalyst selected from the group consisting of halogentated metal oxides, Lewis acid metal halides, zero-valent metals, and combinations of these, preferably under reaction conditions, including reaction temperature and residence time, effective to convert at least about 5% of the cis-form of the compound to other compounds and to further achieve a selectivity to the trans-form of the compound of at least about 70%.

Conversion of high purity silicon powder to densified compacts

This invention describes methods of compacting and densifying high purity silicon powder to defined geometric forms and shapes. High purity silicon powder is first mixed with binder from a select group of binders and pressed into desired shapes in a mechanical equipment. The binder is removed either in a separate step or combined with a subsequent sintering operation. The binders and process conditions are chosen to make negligible change to the purity of the silicon in the end product. When high purity silicon powder is utilized in the process, the end use for the densified silicon compacts is primarily as feedstock for silicon-based photovoltaic manufacturing industries.

The invention discloses an object surface deformation feature extraction method based on a line scanning three-dimensional point cloud. The method comprises the following steps: data acquisition is performed by use of a three-dimensional measurement sensor based on line structure optical scanning, and three-dimensional point cloud data of the surface of an object is obtained after data preprocessing; influences exerted by abnormal data and textures on a main contour of a section are eliminated, and the main contour of the section of the object is accurately obtained; through combination with a deformation feature database, binary images are obtained by extracting deformation feature points on the basis of the section, and an object form subblock set is obtained by preliminarily positioning a deformation area on the basis of subblock images; then a region of confidence (ROC) is generated by performing morphological operation on the deformation feature points in the subblock set, next, an object is restored by performing area growth by use of a geometric form feature of the ROC, and thus the detection integrity of the deformation area is ensured; and finally, according to a predefined deformation feature, a deformation feature value of the deformation area at the surface of the object is counted, and accordingly, complete attribute information of object deformation is accurately obtained.

To assist a vehicle operator in such situations, a method and a suitable device for implementing this method, include detecting the potential target objects in the image data of an image sensor and identifying the potential target objects as potential destinations in a multi-stage exclusionary method, whereupon a trajectory describing an optimized travel path is computed at least in relation to the most proximate destination. By using the multi-stage exclusionary method according to the present invention, it is possible to reliably identify potential destinations in complex image scenarios solely on the basis of their geometric form, even when the destinations have not been encoded by specific symbols.
