A stent graft (5) comprises a tubular graft member (4), and a plurality of sloping stent members (3) substantially coaxial with and coupled to the tubular graft member (4). Each of the sloping stent members (3) comprises multiple uneven apexes characterizing a round tubular configuration with a distal end and a proximal end disposed about a longitudinal axis. The distal apexes of the sloping stent member (3) are arranged in substantially the same plane substantially horizontal to the longitudinal axis of the sloping stent member and the proximal apexes are arranged in a sloping plane oblique to the longitudinal axis.

Genetic inhibition by double-stranded RNA

InactiveUS20080050342A1Low concentrationEffectiveness of inhibitionOrganic active ingredientsBiocideGene expressionNucleotide sequenc
A process is provided of introducing an RNA into a living cell to inhibit gene expression of a target gene in that cell. The process may be practiced ex vivo or in vivo. The RNA has a region with double-stranded structure. Inhibition is sequence-specific in that the nucleotide sequences of the duplex region of the RNA and of a portion of the target gene are identical. The present invention is distinguished from prior art interference in gene expression by antisense or triple-strand methods.

Baby bottle holder and tether system

InactiveUS20080169688A1Quick and sturdyFit tightlyStoolsFeeding-bottlesEngineeringBaby bottle
This apparatus provides a means by and through which a children's bottle or sip cup can be secured to structural components, such as car seat headrest, utilizing a bottle holder, a tether, and a clip. The bottle holder is comprised of a flexible, insulating material that securely fits around said bottle in such a manner that it cannot be easily extracted by a child. Furthermore, the bottle holder helps maintain desired temperature of the liquid within the bottle through the utilization of insulating materials. The tether can be adjusted to variable desired lengths. The tether has attached to it, a clip with easily and quickly secures to many different structural components. The clip can be easily removed as well. The invention allows a child to drop or throw a bottle or cup without misplacing the bottle or cup. The caretaker or child simply grabs the tether which has the bottle or cup securely attached.

Radial ball bearing retainer

A deep channel type of radial ball bearing having a retainer. The bearing has an outer ring and an inner ring. Running channels are formed on the mutually opposing orbiting surfaces of the outer ring and inner ring. A specified number of balls are fit into the running channels. The retainer having pockets is placed between the outer ring and the inner ring. Each ball is captured in one of the pockets. A ball contact surface is formed on the inner surface of each edge on the opening side of the pockets. A curved ridge line forms the boundary between the inner surface of the pocket and the contact surface. This curved ridge line that forms the boundary is substantially parallel to the direction of rotation of the balls. A channel is formed at the bottom surface of the pocket. The channel extends from the inner perimeter to the outer perimeter of the retainer. The lubricating oil on the bottom surface of the pocket flows through the channel by virtue of the rolling of the balls and is guided to the outer perimeter side. A triangle-shaped fin having an inclined surface is integrally formed between the adjacent pockets on the outer perimeter surface. The inclined surface is formed on the trailing side of pocket with respect to the retainer direction of rotation. Lubricating oil directed from the above-described channel to the outer perimeter surface by the rolling of the ball is received at the inclined surface of the fin and is supplied to the vicinity of the leading edge of the pocket that is located behind the fin by the rotation of the retainer.

Fastening device

A fastener for fastening an attached or trim part to a support part includes a receptacle part having a pocket with a lateral opening and a guide slot, and a connecting part having at least one flange that can be introduced into the pocket through the lateral opening and having a fastening section. The fastening section has an opening to accommodate a retaining stud projecting from the support part. Located in the opening are latching fingers which can hold the retaining stud in place in the opening.

Punching device and punching die for it

The punching die of the invention has a head 22 held by positive engagement. The head 22 is held on the shaft 21 of the die 8 in that by means of plastic deformation, for instance by radial application of pressure, material is positively displaced radially inward, so that a protrusion 28 is embodied which rests over a large area on the wall of a recess 23. A more secure, more durable force transition is assured.

Security mark and a method for validating the authenticity of a security mark

The invention provides for a security mark (1) on a recyclable container (2), where the security mark (1) comprises an illustration (3) including a first part (4) printed in a first ink and second part (5) printed in a second ink. The reflectance of the first part (4) is between 0 and 20 percent in the visible spectrum having a wavelength up to 660 nm, making the first part (4) substantially fully visible in most of the visible spectrum and the reflectance of the first part (4) is above 80 percent in infrared light having a wavelength above 800 nm making the first part (4) substantially invisible in most of the infrared spectrum. The reflectance of the second part (5) is between 0 and 20 percent in light having a wavelength up to 800 nm making the second part (5) substantially fully visible in the visible spectrum and a first part (4) of the infrared spectrum up to 800 nm and the reflectance of the second part (5) is above 25 percent in infrared light having a wavelength above 960 nm making the second part (5) at least not fully visible in most of the infrared spectrum. A method for validating the authenticity of a security mark (1) on a recyclable container (2) is also disclosed.

Device for receiving small volume liquid samples

Improvements in and relating to devices for receiving liquid samples A device for receiving a liquid sample may form part of a micro sampling head for an instrument such as a spectrophotometer. The device receives a liquid sample to be analysed by a process involving the passing of electromagnetic radiation through the sample, and comprises a light inlet guide (20) for directing electromagnetic radiation into the sample, a light receiving element (23) situated in an opposed relationship to the guide and spaced from the guide by a fixed distance to define a fixed path length gap (21), which is, in use, filled with the sample. In use, radiation is passed from the light inlet guide to the light receiving element (23), and the path length of radiation through the sample is defined by the gap (23). The device is open or openable to allow a droplet of sample to be deposited directly in the gap.
