The invention provides an automatic quick cross-architecture migration method forvirtual machines. The method comprises the following steps: S1, querying all
virtual machine instances at an old architecture node of a user; S2, configuring new architecture node corresponding information according to existing information of a
virtual machine needing to be migrated, and generating a template after configuration is completed; S3, creating the configured new
virtual machine according to the template at the new architecture node, and turning off the new virtual
machine after the creation is completed; S4, migrating the data of the virtual
machine needing to be migrated; and S5, finishing the whole migration process after all the data is migrated, and starting a new virtual
machine, wherein the new virtual machine is the virtual machine which is located at the new architecture node and is completely consistent with the virtual machine needing to be migrated in specification, configuration and data. According to the automatic rapid cross-architecture migration method for the virtual machines, the problems that an existing migration method needs a large amount of manpower investment, customer services are interrupted for a long time, the
duration time of each migration is too long, and great negative effects exist are solved.
