Kickback Reduction for Power Tools and Machines

An apparatus and methods are described for protecting an operator from sudden, unexpected or dangerous movement of powered hand held tools and the like. A set of parameters for safe operation of the tool are provided, which parameters may be adjusted or selected based on the manner in which the tool is being operated. The power tool is fitted with sensors including an accelerometer, operating to sense acceleration of the tool in a plurality of axes during operation. The output of the accelerometer is coupled to a computing circuit which determines if the acceleration of the tool is within the safe operation parameters. When acceleration of the tool exceeds one or more of the safe operating parameters, power to the tool motor is limited or otherwise adjusted in order to prevent or reduce the movement of the tool thereby protecting the operator.

Flow velocity monitoring implementation method based on adversarial generative network

The invention provides a flow velocity monitoring implementation method based on an adversarial generative network. The flow velocity monitoring implementation method comprises the following steps that (1) water flow image preprocessing is performed; (2) image classification is performed based on the adversarial generative network; (3) flow velocity determination: the image classification results and flow velocity intervals are corresponding in a one-to-one way; and (4) state analysis: a state abnormal signal is transmitted when the monitoring result indicates that the flow velocity exceeds the preset threshold. The beneficial effects mainly reside in that the advantages of discriminant and generative classification algorithms are effectively combined in adversarial training of a generator and a discriminator and unsupervised learning is realized, and the synthetic water flow image outputted by the generator of the adversarial generative network and the real image act as the input of the discriminator together so that the robustness of a classifier for the noised water flow image can be greatly enhanced, classification is performed according to the water flow image and rapid flow velocity determination can be realized in a way of being corresponding to the preset flow velocity intervals and classified management of mass water flow information is facilitated.

Point of care heparin determination system

Methods and devices for point of care determination of heparin concentration in blood are described. Cartridges including protamine ion sensitive electrodes (ISEs) and reference electrodes and systems for automatically determining heparin concentration in the cartridges are provided. Some systems add blood to a protamine bolus sufficient to bind all heparin, leaving excess protamine. The excess protamine concentration can be determined by measuring the initial slope of the electrode potential rate of change, and comparing the slope to known protamine concentration slope values In some cartridges, an oscillating pressure source moves the blood-protamine mixture back and forth across the protamine ISE. Some systems also use a second blood sample having the heparin removed or degraded to create a blank reference sample. Protamine ISEs can include polyurethane polymer, DNNS ionophore, and NPOE plasticizer. The polyurethane may include hard segments and soft segments, where both hard and soft segments may include cyclic and straight chain aliphatic moieties having essentially no ester or ether groups. Some hard segments may include methylene diphenyl groups. Some reference electrodes have the same polymer, plasticizer, and ionophore as the measurement electrode, but with a different concentration of ionophore.

Apparatus and method for delivering information over a network

A method of generating directed content is provided. In the method, a set of lists are received. Each list in the set of lists is associated with a respective web service and each list includes searches submitted to the associated web service. The set of lists are distilled into a frequency database. The frequency database stores search frequency information indicating, for respective searches, a frequency with respect to each of one or more of the plurality of web services. A query is obtained, and the query is used to perform a search for matches between the query and a search in the database. Matches having highest associated frequency are selected. Each selected match indicates a respective selected web service of the web services. Directed content is displayed based on one or more of the selected web services.

The invention relates to a water quality multi-index detection method on the basis of an ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrum. The method comprises the following steps: (1) establishing a water quality algorithm model comprising each water quality index; (2) measuring to obtain the ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrum of the to-be-detected water; (3) calculating to obtain a primary calculation value of each water quality index in the to-be-detected water according to the water quality algorithm model and the ultraviolet-visible absorption spectrum of the to-be-detected water; (4) locally correcting the primary calculation value of each water quality index in the to-be-detected water to obtain a detection result corresponding to each water quality index; and (5) comparing the obtained detection result corresponding to each water quality index and relevant water quality standard of each water quality index, judging whether the to-be-detected water quality exceeds the standard or not and issuing an alarm. By measuring the ultraviolet-visible full-wavelength absorption spectrum of the detected water, combining with the water quality algorithm model and correction parameters, each water quality index in the water can be synchronously calculated. The method can be widely suitable for monitoring and alarming for various kinds of surface water, various kinds of sewage, drinking water, and for control of sewage and water supply treatment processes.

Method and system for handoff between an asychronous CDMA base station and a synchronous CDMA base station

A method and system that enables faster acquisition of the forward link signal of a target base station in a mixed network of synchronous and asynchronous base stations is disclosed. The serving base station transmits in a neighbor list an estimated timing error 417 between the serving base station and a target base station. By utilizing the timing information, a mobile station estimates the relative time offset 408 between forward link signals received from the serving base station and signals received from the target base station. Timing information acquired during handoff enables accurate updating of the estimated timing error 417 subsequently transmitted in the neighbor lists by the base stations.
