System and method for the creation and automatic deployment of personalized, dynamic and interactive inbound and outbound voice services, with real-time interactive voice database queries

The interactive delivery of voice serve messages communicating financial, personal or other news telecasts can be accessed at a subscriber's convenience on an inbound telephone, network enabled or other call. A voice service bureau may generate voice messages for individual subscribers according to their natural language queries. For instance, a subscriber may inquire “What was the closing Dow today” and the system converts the request to digital form, discriminates search terms, interrogates a database and annunciates to the call “The closing Dow was 11,000 today”. Responses to those or other inquiries may be delivered in real time or substantially real time.

RGBZ (red, green, blue, z-depth) filter system usable with sensor systems, including sensor systems with synthetic mirror enhanced three-dimensional imaging

For use with an imaging system, in one aspect, the present invention implements a filter system that provides a precise narrow band pass for IR-NIR wavelengths, while also providing individual dye-type filters that can be disposed above individual RGB pixels to create dedicated red, green, and blue pixel responses. An interference dichotic filter provides a non-critical first pass band that adequately encompassed RGB wavelengths, and provides a more critical IR-NIR pass band for Z-pixels. The individual dye-type filters have individual R, G, B pass band shapes that fall within the interference filter. Preferably a dye-type NIR-IR filter is also in a common optical path with the other filters to contribute to the overall filtering. In a second aspect, the invention provides an RGB-Z system with dynamically updated image renderings to better enable a viewer of the image to acquire a sense of depth.

Method for navigating in the interior of the body using three-dimensionally visualized structures

A method is described for navigating in the interior of the body using three-dimensionally visualized structures. In a first step of the method, at least two two-dimensional images of the same anatomical object are provided from different perspectives, and also items of information that make it possible to draw conclusions about the respective spatial position of an imaging system relative to the anatomical object. The projections of a geometrical structure to be visualized are then created in every two-dimensional image, wherein a geometrical structure to be visualized is created in each two-dimensional image, wherein the geometrical structure to be visualized is different from the anatomical object. A cone surface is then generated in space for each image wherein the spatial positions of the cone vertex and cone directrix are determined from the respective spatial position of the imaging system and the shape of the cone directrix is determined from the shape of the projection of the geometrical structure to be visualized on the image. Finally, a spatial intersection of the individual cone surfaces is formed to determine the geometrical structure and the geometrical structure determined and/or an intersection of a plurality of geometrical structures determined are/is represented and the representation is used for navigation.

System and method for interactive voice services using markup language with N-best filter element

A voice-enabled markup language system an N-best filter element that generates unverified possible matches to the utterance for verification to the user during an interactive voice dialog. Such an element is used when a large number of possible utterances may be made in response to an input request or similarly-sounding utterances are possible. The element in the markup language provides the structure used by a call server to dialog with the user.

Land vehicle communications system and process for providing information and coordinating vehicle activities

A communication system architecture (SA) for a vehicle which may be integrated into the vehicle's multiplexed electronic component communication system, and a process for communicating with the vehicle to provide information for and about the vehicle's operational status and coordinating the vehicle's activities. The communication system will include a multi-functional antenna system for the vehicle that will have the capability to receive AM/FM radio and television signals, and transmit and receive citizens band (CB) radio signals, satellite and microwave and cellular phone communications. The antenna may be installed as original equipment or as a back-fit part in the after-market. In either case the multi-functional antenna will be integrated with the vehicle's multiplexed electronic component communication system. The process for communicating with the vehicle will involve a communication service for which the vehicle's driver will enroll for and service will continue so long as maintenance fees are paid. The service will be capable of providing various levels of information transfer and coordination. The levels may include vehicle information such as (1) the need for servicing and location of the nearest service center with the necessary parts in stock, (2) routing, and (3) load brokering and coordination. The modular design of the system architecture (SA) will allow it to be employed with the vehicle platform that does not possess a full multiplexed electronic component communications system. The resulting vehicle, using an after-market application package, will be able to participate in some of the services.

Biometric piezo scanner

A piezoelectric thin film sensor array is used to scan and capture biometric data, for example, a fingerprint image. In one embodiment, a multi-layer structure includes a PVDF layer in between two conductor grids arranged orthogonally to one another. Urethane can be added to one side where a finger is placed. A foam substrate can be used as a support. In one feature, the PVDF, and grids can be peeled off like a label for easy replacement. Multiplexers are switched to scan the sensor. A single pixel or a group of pixels can be detected and output to an image memory. The presence of a fingerprint ridge is detected by virtue of a ring-down oscillation that arises from reflection when an electric field is applied to the piezoelectric thin film sensor array at a pixel in contact with the fingerprint ridge. For example, such a ring-down value associated with a fingerprint ridge can be detected at about 150 ns. (or 5 cycles at 30 MHZ). Other reflections indicative of additional biometrics (e.g. from tissue, blood, bone, fingernail, etc.) can also be detected. A Doppler effect due to reflections from circulating blood can also be detected. Such a Doppler effect can provide further information about direction and speed of blood circulation. An instantaneous pyroelectric effect can also be detected to indicate a live finger presence.
