It is an object of this invention to provide an ink jet printing apparatus having excellent throughput which can continue the printing operation without interruption if a part of line heads falls into an unprintable state when the apparatus is printing images of the same color using a plurality of line heads. For this purpose, this invention divides the image data for images of the same color and supplies the divided image data to such a line head of the plurality of line heads intended to form images of the same color which are capable of ejecting ink properly so that the ink ejectable line head perform the printing operation according to the supplied image data.

Nozzle members, compositions and methods for micro-fluid ejection heads

Improved photoimaged nozzle members for a micro-fluid ejection head, micro-fluid ejection heads containing such nozzle members, and methods for making any of the same. One such nozzle member is provided by a photoresist nozzle layer applied adjacent a thick film layer on a substrate having fluid ejector actuators. The photoresist nozzle layer has a plurality of nozzles therein. The nozzles are formed in the nozzle layer from an exit surface of the nozzle layer to an entrance surface of the nozzle layer. The nozzles have a reentrant hole profile with a wall angle greater than about 40 up to about 30° measured from an axis orthogonal to a plane defined by the exit surface of the nozzle layer.

A present invention improves the impact accuracy of ejected droplets, the quality of printed images, and print speed. A print head according to the present invention has an ink channel for which the width thereof in a direction orthogonal to an ink supply direction in which ink is supplied from an ink supply port to a pressure chamber is smaller than that of a pressure chamber. In the print head, the center of a heater along the ink supply direction is offset from the center of the pressure chamber along the ink supply direction, toward the side of the pressure chamber far from the ink supply port in the ink supply direction.
