Notched surface-mounted anchors and wall anchor systems using the same

Notched, surface-mounted wall anchors and anchoring systems employing the same are disclosed. The anchor is a notched, folded sheetmetal construct utilizable with various wire formative veneer ties. The depth of the notch is greater than the combined thickness of the wallboard and the waterproofing layer. Various embodiments show wall anchor configurations with suitable veneer ties and differing sheathing arrangements. The notches, upon surface-mounting of the wall anchor, form small wells in the portion of the notch extending into the insulation, which wells entrain water vapor, condensate and water, and relieve the same from being driven into the wallboard.

Wiring harness shield splitter

A self-aligning shield splitter assembly (10) for splitting and shielding a wiring bundle (16) from an electromagnetic field and a method of assembling the same are provided. The shield splitter assembly (10) includes a first (12) and a second (14) hollow shield splitter. Each of the splitters (12, 14) defining an internal volume (36) for receiving a portion (54, 56) of the wiring bundle (16). Each of the splitters (12, 14) further includes open ends (32, 34) and a plurality of ridges (42, 44, 46) disposed along an exterior portion of the splitter (12, 14). The plurality of ridges (42, 44, 46) are perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the splitter (12, 14). A plurality of braided shields (20, 22, 24) is provided individually surrounding the first splitter (12), the second splitter (14), and the wiring bundle (16). The plurality of braided shields (20, 22, 24) minimizes penetration of electromagnetic fields into the wiring bundle (16). At least one retaining band (26, 28) is also provided for securing the first splitter (12), the second splitter (14), and the plurality of braided shields (20, 22, 24) together. The retaining band (26, 28) is positioned between the plurality of ridges (42, 44, 46) of the first (12) and second (14) splitters.

Customized electronic display and methods of customizing the physical size and/or shape thereof

Electronic displays are physically reshaped and / or resized to meet custom specifications for special applications such as avionics, where Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) are not typically used. Customization includes cutting the physical display to specified dimensions to fit into a target opening, and resealing the display to preserve proper cell spacing and assure basic functionality. The target opening is typically a control panel or dashboard opening, such as in the cockpit of an airplane. The sealing process may include improving the original seal, and / or providing additional seals. Additional seals may protect sensitive areas against chemical corrosives or contamination, humidity, electrostatic damage, etc., and / or prevent light from passing around the edge of the display image area. Electric continuity may need to be reestablished for electric leads affected during the customization process, and electronic drivers may need to be reattached to the display. Additional modifications and / or enhancements may be made to the display during reshaping and / or resizing. For example, TABs or COGs may be relocated, added, removed, replaced, and / or reoriented; electric circuits may be replaced and / or supplemented with circuits having different functionality; the display medium may be altered and / or replaced; polarizers, filters, and / or films may be added, removed, and / or replaced. The customized display may then be ruggedized by attaching a suitable bezel (face plate) and frame (support hardware) thereto, and the completed, customized display unit may then be installed in the target location and integrated with surrounding hardware and electronics.

Jacket tube for a drilling and anchoring device

The invention relates to a jacket tube (6) for a device for drilling holes and forming an anchorage in the earth or rock. The inventive jacket tube (6) is coupled with a drill pipe (3) and / or a drill bit (1) or a drill hammer and is configured with a plurality of through openings across its periphery. Once the borehole (2) has been made, or after an anchor has been introduced, the jacket tube can be filled with a hardenable suspension. According to the invention, the jacket tube consists of at least one expanded metal element (6) which has evenly distributed through openings (9) and connecting elements (7, 8), especially sleeves, at the ends for connecting to a drill bit (1) and / or other jacket tube elements (6). The borehole (2) is therefore easy to produce and the jacket tube (6) can be anchored securely.
