The single-phase illumination system comprises the main power source which outputs sine alternating current voltage, and the illumination load. The voltage regulation circuit is used for generating auxiliary voltage to regulate amplitude of the sine alternating current voltage which is loaded on the illumination load. Power consumption of the voltage regulation circuit of illuminating lights is small, harmonic wave loaded on the illumination load is also small, so that the alternating current voltage loaded on the illumination load is still of sine curve. The normal voltage requirement loaded by the illumination system is satisfied, in particular when being inputted with sine curved voltage, twinkling of an HID lamp or a fluorescent lamp is reduced, the power factor is enhanced, and the service life of an illuminating lamp is extended. In addition, the method is also suitable for other illuminating lamps inputted with the sine curved voltage.

A rising current passing through the lateral side of the positive electrode (4) moves towards the upper end of the arc tube (1). An air current combined with the falling current and rising current collides with the inner side near the upper end of the arc tube (1). An air current containing the blackened material components collides with a position greatly shifted from the arc tube surface area required for the optical irradiation, thus to prevent the surface area required for the optical irradiation from being blackened.

The invention relates to a protection and control circuit for the electronic ballast of a high power HID lamp. A lamp stat detector detects the working state of an HID lamp. The lamp state detector is provided with two paths of output. One path of output is connected with an automatic power controller and inputs a lamp state signal to the automatic power controller. The input of the automatic power controller is connected with the input terminal of a drive controller, and the automatic power controller sends a power adjustment signal to the drive controller according to the lamp state. The other path of the output of the lamp state detector is connected with the wiring node of a failure protector and a restart controller and transfers the lamp state signal. The restart controller is connected with the input terminal of the drive controller by the failure protector and provides the lamp state signal and a restart control signal to the drive controller. The input terminal of the drive controller is also connected with a temperature compensating circuit and provides a temperature adjustment signal to the drive controller. The drive controller outputs a power drive control signal. The protection and control circuit ensures that the electronic ballast of the high power HID lamp can be used.
