Security Camera System and Method of Steering Beams to Alter a Field of View

A security camera system according to present invention embodiments includes a telephoto type lens with one or more factors of optical zoom. A set of prisms that steer incoming beams from the surrounding environment (to adjust the field of view) is disposed in front of the lens. The security camera system preferably includes a wide angle staring mode that encompasses a large field of view, where the prisms are oriented to provide no steering effect. The security camera system further includes a high-resolution zoom mode, where the telephoto lens focuses on a region of interest and the prisms perform beam steering to adjust the field of view and enable the region of interest or an object to remain at the center of the security camera system view. Image processing techniques may be employed that consider the beam steering angle and the field of view to compensate for distortion effects.

Interactive GUI for clustered search results

Typical search engines include document snippets. There is no progression from a big picture view of search results to more detailed views. This invention creates a big picture view of search results in terms of cluster / category / topic / facet summaries / snippets. Cluster summary / snippet also has a few top ranking document snippets unlike other clustering search engines. Interactivity is provided for the user to see more / less results of each cluster / category / topic / facet. This helps in better understanding and navigation of search results. Can use traditional windows / rectangles for clusters / categories and sub-rectangles for documents. Alternatively can use a modified treemap. Each cluster with title becomes a parent in the treemap. Unlike traditional treemaps which show all children at a level, it shows a subset of children. A further alternative uses circles / balloons to represent clusters. Documents are shown as sub-circles. Clustering is also improved by additionally using ‘similar terms’ for clustering and getting cluster titles.

Tongue depressor

Embodiments of the present invention feature a device and method for depressing the tongue during surgical procedures. The device features a first planar element, a second planar element and at least one bridge element. Each planar element has a top surface, a bottom surface, an inside edge, an outside edge, a front end, a back end, a length and a width. The length from the front end to the back end corresponds to the distance between the front exterior of the oral cavity to an area of the tonsils. The bottom surface is for placing on the top of the tongue with the front edge into the oral cavity and the back edge toward the exterior of the oral cavity. The top surface creates a chamber with the palate of the patient for viewing and performing surgical procedures. The outside edge of each planar element is for positioning buccally, with the inside edges facing each other spaced apart a distance sized for a laryngeal mask airway device or endotracheal tube, to create a channel space. The bridge element is affixed to each planar element spanning the channel space, allowing at least fifty percent of the area of the channel space to remain open.

Display device and head mounted display device

A display device includes a low-definition display section and a high-definition display section. An area of pixels of the high-definition display section is smaller than an area of pixels of the low-definition display section. The position of the center of the high-definition display section is shifted from the position of the center of the display region. Consequently, when the display device is worn on the head of a user and disposed in front of the eyes, it is possible to provide a high-definition image. It is possible to reduce a processing load of moving image processing.
