Driving device

A shaft locking device for a motor-driven, hand-guided work tool spindle has a driven member fixedly connected thereto, a freewheel with locking members, a ring fixedly connected to the housing and engaged by the locking members in both rotating directions, a drive member coaxially arranged to the spindle with unlocking members cooperating with locking members releasing when the driving member is engaged, thereby releasing the driven member from the ring. Drive member cams are spatially separated from unlocking members wherein they penetrate the locking member. Driven members have catch openings such that both drive and driven members also have torque-transmitting catch surfaces for a motor-driven action of the spindle so that the catch surfaces have a larger distance from one another in a neutral position of the drive member than between the unlocking members and the locking members.

Ergonomic chair

An ergonomic chair provides continuous support to the seated user throughout a broad range of postures by pivoting both the seat and back supporting cushions about a first or common axis disposed above the seat support cushion and in front of the back support cushion. The back supporting portion also independently pivots about a second horizontal axis proximate the lumbar region in a manner that allows the back supporting cushion to assume an angle that provides permanent contact with the seated user's back when said user is leaning back against the back support cushion. The springs that otherwise oppose the free rotation about the first and second axis are balanced such that the force inherently exerted by the user during movement through a range of seated postures is sufficient to initiate the coordinated rotation of the seat and back supporting element. No additional exertion is required once the user has reached the desired inclination, as the return springs are selected to counterbalance the redistributed weight of the user. Thus, full contact of the back supporting portion with the user's back is achieved over a full range of postures to provide proper ergonomic support, allowing the user to stay at task. In combination with such motion, which maintains the head at a level and angle such that the eyes can remain focused on their primary visual target without need to adjust the height, depth or angle of the target. The chair can offer armrests that support the forearms of the seated user to reduce the load carried by the arms, shoulders, neck and back and cooperate with the motion of the seat and back supporting elements to maintain ergonomically correct orientation of the hands to the keyboard or work surface.

Contoured seat cushion and method for offloading pressure from skeletal bone prominences and encouraging proper postural alignment

A support contour of a cushion, such as a wheelchair cushion, defines relief areas at locations adjacent to skin covering the ischial tuberosities, the greater trochanters and the coccyx and sacrum of a person sitting on the support contour. Support areas of the support contour transfer force into the pelvic area adjacent to skin covering tissue masses on opposite lateral sides of the posterior buttocks and beneath the proximal thighs of the person. Greater clearance is also provided in the perineal area. Risks of pressure ulcers from pressure and shear forces on bony prominences is reduced while providing support at the broader areas without bony prominences in such a manner to encourage postural alignment. The risks of skin breakdown perineal are diminished.

Kit, apparatus and method for use in cooking over an intense heat source

A portable cooking kit, apparatus and method is usable for moderating heat from an intense heat source, such as an outdoor grill or camprife. The apparatus includes a food support member, including a perforated panel surrounded by a rim. The food support member rests on top of a heat shield made from a heat-tolerant material. During use, the heat shield is stably suspended over direct, intense heat from a heat source. The food to be cooked is placed on the food support member, and the food support member may then be placed on top of the heat shield. By buffering the direct heat from the heat source, the heat shield allows food placed on the food support member to cook, but protects the underside of the food from becoming scorched. Optionally, a dome-shaped cover may be used to cover both the food support member and the heat shield.

Rotating electrical machine winding, rotating electrical machine, and semiconductive insulating component used therein

When a rotating electrical machine winding is inserted into a slot with a protective insulation intervening between them, a semiconductive insulating layer is lap-wound between an interlayer insulating layer of the rotating electrical machine winding and the protective insulation, the semiconductive insulating layer being formed by center-folding a continuous semiconductive sheet in the longitudinal direction. A thermal stress relaxation layer is provided inside the center-folded continuous semiconductive sheet so that thermal stress exerted in thickness direction of the insulating layers is absorbed.
