Synchronization and automation in an ITV enviroment

A synchronization mechanism embeds synchronization triggers into a television signal or stream at regular intervals. The triggers include an accurate representation of the time in which the triggers were embedded. A receiving device decodes the triggers and synchronizes its internal timer based on the triggers. In this regard, the receiving device obtains a reference time from the internal timer and computes an offset between the reference time and the trigger time. The computed offset is then applied to the reference time. With the receipt of each new trigger, the application compares the trigger time to a new reference time with the most recently computed offset value applied. If there is any variance between these two values, the application creates a new smoothed offset.

Power saving scheduler for timed events

The disclosed system and methods include a power saving scheduler that maintains timed events in an event table. Each timed event has an associated tolerance period within which the event should begin execution following a trigger, and a timestamp indicating a scheduled execution time for the event. When a device is in a low-power sleep mode, a trigger may wake up the device to a wake state. The power scheduler then accesses the event table of upcoming timed events, and reorders the event table from the event having the shortest tolerance period to the event having the longest tolerance period. Each event for which the timestamp is within the tolerance period as measured from the trigger time is executed. After a plurality of such events are executed, the device may return to the sleep mode.

Enhancement on radio link failure report to record necessary timing details for a dual-threshold handover trigger event

ActiveUS20150092746A1Fine picturePreventing unnecessary wastage of processing resourceWireless commuication servicesNODALTimestamp
A system and method in which a Radio Link Failure, RLF, report from a User Equipment, UE, provides system time-based timestamps to enable a source node to correctly analyze the real cause of an RLF associated with a handover. The timestamps are provided for the latest fulfillment of each event-specific entering condition associated with a handover-triggering event and for the occurrence of the RLF. The recorded timestamps are sent as part of RLF-reporting information to be forwarded to the source node to assist the source node in adjusting event-specific threshold(s) as well as other non-threshold related handover parameters such as the Time To Trigger, TTT, period, the time delay between a UE's transmission of its Measurement Report and the source node's transmission of the handover command, and the like, to reduce similar RLFs in the future. The generation of timestamps does not waste the UE's processing resources or battery power.

Intelligent surfacing of reminders

Calendar and scheduling applications organize and display user events and provide event reminders. A method of triggering a reminder includes accessing a reminder which describes an event. An individual associated with the event, other than the user, is identified. A future time is predicted when the user will be within proximity of the individual. A time to trigger the reminder for presentation to the user is determined, such that the time to trigger the reminder occurs in advance of the predicted future time when the user will be within proximity of the individual. Based on a determination that the time for triggering the reminder has occurred, the reminder is triggered to be presented to the user.

In-device interference mitigation

Methods and apparatus for mitigating in-device interference are described. The methods may include an in-device interference event (e.g. an interference situation), and the processing of events may depend on the priority of the technologies. A handover to another frequency or radio access technology (RAT) may occur in case a co-existing technology may be activated. The network may signal to the device a list of frequencies or RATs that it may be allowed to measure and handoff to. A network may provide a scaling value that the device may use to speed up reaction to the interference. The device may apply a scaling factor to an "out of synch' counter and / or the radio link failure (RLF) timer used for the RLF procedure. The device may apply different scaling factors for the measurements and time to trigger events. The device may trigger a report to the network requesting gaps for an alternate RAT.

Data management in long record length memory

A data management method for a long record length memory that is used for data acquisition writes data samples into an initial circular buffer within the memory having a size equal to a pre-trigger time. When a first trigger event occurs, the data samples are then written into a linear region after the circular buffer within the memory. The data sample acquisition in the linear region continues until a post-trigger and new pre-trigger time have elapsed after a last trigger event, at which point the acquisition terminates and the new pre-trigger time becomes a new circular buffer for a next trigger event. In this way all trigger events are captured with associated pre-trigger and post-trigger data.

Mobility state enhancements

In a cellular communications network, a measurement report is requested to enable handover conditions to be established. In one approach, a measurement report is based on satisfaction of an event. Signalling for this measurement report includes one or more parameters on the basis of which the event is defined, including a trigger time defining a time period over which the event should be satisfied for the report to be triggered. In one approach, speed dependent scaling is applied to a parameter other than the trigger time, in the defined event. In another approach, a handover scenario, concerning the nature of the cell in which the user equipment is operational, and optionally that of a neighbouring cell, governs the definition of a trigger event.

Method for wireless service handover and base station and relay station using the same

A method, a mobile relay using the same and a DeNB using the same are proposed. The present disclosure reduces the time required to perform wireless service handover by detecting the movement status of the mobile relay relative to a candidate DeNB as to determine whether a mobile relay is approaching or leaving a candidate handover DeNB. By incorporating the movement status into a report sent to the serving DeNB, the serving DeNB would require less time to make handover decisions since the reporting interval could be reduced to one interval, and the time to trigger would not be required. The movement status could be determined based on the propagation time of signals, a list of neighbor cell information, or the Doppler effect.

Method and apparatus for adjusting a reselection timer and cell ranking criteria, and reporting degraded signal measurement of a serving cell

Various methods for adjusting a reselection timer and cell ranking criteria are disclosed. The ranking criteria of a serving or neighbor cell, or a reselection timer in a wireless transmit / receive unit (WTRU), is adjusted based on how a serving cell signal measurement, (e.g., signal strength, signal quality), compares to a plurality of thresholds over a time interval. In another method, cell ranking criteria is adjusted based on a hysteresis value and a scaling factor when a maximum number of reselections is exceeded and a high mobility factor is detected. Furthermore, a method of reporting cell signal measurements is disclosed, whereby a time-to-trigger time (TTT) interval is started when the neighbor cell signal measurement rises above a reporting range threshold. If the serving cell signal measurement falls below a serving cell threshold, the TTT interval is adjusted and thereby a measurement report is transmitted during the TTT interval.

Memory architecture for telephone dialer

A telephone dialer includes tables in memory for determining a dialing sequence such as a long distance carrier code to be appended to a dialed telephone number. A variable length prefix portion of the dialed telephone number accesses a prefix table entry that defines an action descriptor for indicating how the telephone number should be processed in a table lookup to determine the dialing sequence. The action descriptor includes a specification of the number of digits to be dialed to trigger a dialing action and may include an indication of an elapsed time to trigger dialing. The action descriptor also includes an indication of the number of digits after the prefix used to determine an action and may specify one of plural ways in which those digits are used to determine the action. The action descriptor also identifies a pointer table to be indexed by the specified digits of the telephone number. The entry in the pointer table points to an entry in the long distance table associated with a particular long distance carrier. The entry in the long distance table then specifies the dialing sequence. The tables may be reprogrammed over telephone lines using DTMF signals or a modem.

Adaptive service for handling notifications and synchronizing directories of a file system

Adaptive techniques for handling notifications and updating a directory of a file system in a graphical user interface of a computing environment are disclosed. The adaptive techniques include receiving a notification that at least something has been potentially changed in the node. A current time value of the notification is obtained, and a preferred time value or trigger time for responding to the notification is calculated. In a preferred embodiment, the preferred time value is calculated by adding an adjustment or incremental value to a recorded time of the last synchronization performed on the directory. The adjustment or incremental value is preferably calculated by weighting a duration of one or more synchronizations performed on the directory. The adaptive techniques then compare the current time value to the trigger time. If the current time is less than the trigger time, the Finder and the directory are synchronized. Otherwise, a timer is set to the trigger time, and synchronization of the Finder and the directory is delayed until the trigger time.

Low false-alarm dual-Gm-APD detector photon counting laser radar

The invention discloses a low false-alarm dual-Gm-APD detector photon counting laser radar, and relates to the technical field of laser radars. The invention solves a problem that a conventional Gm-APD detector is liable to be triggered by noises to generate false alarm and affect the normal operation. A light splitter can enable an echo laser signal to be divided into two signals, wherein each signal is detected by one Gm-APD single-photon detector. An AND judgment gate compares the triggering time of the two Gm-APD single-photon detectors in real time. If the two Gm-APD single-photon detectors are triggered at the same moment, the AND judgment gate outputs '1', a timing module stops working, noises do not have temporal correlation, and the two Gm-APD single-photon detectors cannot be triggered at the same time. The AND judgment gate outputs '0', the timing module does not make any operation, thereby inhibiting the noises, and generating no false alarm. The laser radar is suitable for laser radar range finding and laser imaging.
