Method for the precise measurement of the wavelength of light

A process for measuring the absorption spectrum of a target analyte using a cavity ring down spectrometer, comprising the steps of: i) tuning the spectrometer laser so that the light transmitted from the laser into the spectrometer optical cavity is varied over a wavelength interval which encompasses both the absorption wavelength of a spectral feature of the target analyte and a plurality of the free spectral ranges of the optical cavity; ii) triggering a plurality of ringdown events; iii) for each ringdown event, recording the decay time constant and the trigger time at which the light into the cavity is shut off; iv) organizing the decay time constants, light wavelengths and trigger times as a function of trigger time; v) ordering said light wavelengths by increasing value and placing groups of wavelengths into individual bins; vi) computing the average wavelength of each bin group; vii) grouping the decay time constants and trigger times into bins that parallel said wavelength bins, with the decay time constants in each of said parallel bin being arranged by increasing trigger time; viii) computing the average decay time for each decay time bin and using this decay time average, together with the average wavelength from the parallel wavelength bin, to compute the optical loss for the target analyte at said average wavelength.

Method, device and terminal device for reselecting and measuring cell

The invention discloses a method, a device and a terminal device for reselecting and measuring a cell. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, confirming an effective measuring parameter for reselecting and measuring the cell, wherein the effective measuring parameter is used for indicating the information of time period required for the condition that the result of the next reselecting and measuring of the cell meets a switching or reselecting condition; confirming the information of triggering time of the next reselecting and measuring of the cell according to the corresponding effective measuring parameter; and triggering an operation of reselecting and measuring the cell on the basis of the information of triggering time. According to the embodiment of the invention, by monitoring the effective measuring parameter for reselecting and measuring the cell, the triggering time for reselecting and measuring the cell is adjusted, so that the possibility of performing an invalid operation for reselecting and measuring the cell by a terminal is reduced to a certain extent, the consumption of invalid electric energy of the terminal is effectively reduced, the electric energy of the terminal is saved and the stand-by time of the terminal is prolonged.

User apparatus and method in mobile communication system

A user apparatus for use in a mobile communication system includes a reception unit configured to receive a signal transmitted from a base station and obtain a parameter for determining evaluation criteria on cell reselection; a counting unit configured to count a number of cell reselections; and a measurement unit configured to measure a Doppler frequency indicative of a mobility of the user apparatus. The evaluation criteria on cell reselection are that reception signal strength of a signal transmitted from a target base station has been higher than or equal to reception signal strength of a signal transmitted from a source base station by greater than or equal to a hysteresis threshold for longer than or equal to a time to trigger. It is determined whether the evaluation criteria on cell reselection are modified and used depending on whether both first and second conditions are satisfied. The first condition is that a number of cell reselections being performed within a predefined first period (TCRmax) is greater than or equal to a predefined first threshold (NCR or NCR2). The second condition is that the Doppler frequency has been higher than or equal to a predefined second threshold (FDthresh or FDthresh2) for a predefined second period (TFD). Modification of the evaluation criteria on cell reselection comprises at least modification of the time to trigger.

Laser ranging method

The invention discloses a laser ranging method. The laser ranging method includes that an initial threshold value is set by an MCU (microprogrammed control unit), and a first pulse is emitted to trigger a time-to-digital converter to start timing; a second pulse is emitted after a certain time delay to trigger an emitting module to emit laser, and simultaneously, a receiving module is opened to receive an echo signal of the laser; when the echo signal received by the receiving module is larger than the initial threshold value, a high-speed comparator outputs a measurement timing stop pulse to the time-to-digital converter, the MCU reads time difference of the measured earlier pulse and the measured later pulse of the time-to-digital converter so as to compute the measurement distance and drive an LCD (liquid crystal display) to display a measurement result in real time, if the echo signal received by the receiving module is not larger than the initial threshold value, the MCU sets the threshold value to a lower threshold value, the time-to-digital converter and the receiving module are initiated to enter a ranging procedure with the low threshold, when an echo signal is larger than the low threshold value, the high-speed comparator outputs a measurement timing stop pulse to the time-to-digital converter, and if the echo signal is not larger than the low threshold value, the ranging procedure is terminated.

Method and apparatus for accommodating discontinuous reception in a handover determination

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided that continue to obtain the power saving advantages provided by discontinuous reception, while obtaining the measurement samples that are desired during a sampling time period, such as during a time to trigger period, to determine of handover is appropriate. In the context of a method, a measurement sample is caused to be obtained during a discontinuous reception monitoring period. The method may determine that a sampling time period has been commenced based upon a measurement sample. During the sampling time period, one or more additional measurement samples are to be obtained. The method may also determine that the additional measurement samples will not be obtained prior to commencement of the sleep period between monitoring periods and, as a result, cause one or more additional measurement samples to be obtained at respective times that would otherwise have been in the sleep period.

Memory architecture for telephone dialer

A telephone dialer includes tables in memory for determining a dialing sequence such as a long distance carrier code to be appended to a dialed telephone number. A variable length prefix portion of the dialed telephone number accesses a prefix table entry that defines an action descriptor for indicating how the telephone number should be processed in a table lookup to determine the dialing sequence. The action descriptor includes a specification of the number of digits to be dialed to trigger a dialing action and may include an indication of an elapsed time to trigger dialing. The action descriptor also includes an indication of the number of digits after the prefix used to determine an action and may specify one of plural ways in which those digits are used to determine the action. The action descriptor also identifies a pointer table to be indexed by the specified digits of the telephone number. The entry in the pointer table points to an entry in the long distance table associated with a particular long distance carrier. The entry in the long distance table then specifies the dialing sequence. The tables may be reprogrammed over telephone lines using DTMF signals or a modem.

Low false-alarm dual-Gm-APD detector photon counting laser radar

The invention discloses a low false-alarm dual-Gm-APD detector photon counting laser radar, and relates to the technical field of laser radars. The invention solves a problem that a conventional Gm-APD detector is liable to be triggered by noises to generate false alarm and affect the normal operation. A light splitter can enable an echo laser signal to be divided into two signals, wherein each signal is detected by one Gm-APD single-photon detector. An AND judgment gate compares the triggering time of the two Gm-APD single-photon detectors in real time. If the two Gm-APD single-photon detectors are triggered at the same moment, the AND judgment gate outputs '1', a timing module stops working, noises do not have temporal correlation, and the two Gm-APD single-photon detectors cannot be triggered at the same time. The AND judgment gate outputs '0', the timing module does not make any operation, thereby inhibiting the noises, and generating no false alarm. The laser radar is suitable for laser radar range finding and laser imaging.
