The disclosure relates generally to embodiments of systems and methods of spinal stabilization. Embodiments include methods that use a dilator to displace tissue proximate to a sleeve. An embodiment of a surgical system can comprise a dilator that may define a working channel from a first opening to a second opening. The dilator can be positioned to displace tissue proximate to the sleeve. The dilator may be shaped to allow a first end of an elongated member to enter the working channel through the first opening and exit the dilator through the second opening to be percutaneously moved to another assembly.

Methods of calibrating an imaging system using calibration beads

When utilized in a flow imaging instrument, calibration beads provide a known data source that can be employed in various self-diagnostic, calibration and quality metric applications for the both the optical system of the flow imaging instrument, as well as the flow cell of the flow imaging instrument. Such data can be used to determine point spread functions associated with an imaging system, to determine a sensitivity of an imaging system, and to determine a focal point of the imaging system. Imagery collected from calibration beads can be used to determine core size and stability and TDI / flow speed synchronization. Calibration beads can be beneficially employed to enable stable system operation, even when very low sample concentration, or very small sample sizes are to be analyzed.

According to the method, the expansion state observer is designed to estimate indetermination of a system model and external disturbance; a pole assignment method is utilized to determine an initial value of an expansion state observer parameter; the fuzzy rules are introduced to realize online setting for the expansion state observer parameter; the parameter adaptive law is designed to acquire ideal controller gain; the adaptive sliding formwork controller is designed, rapid stabilization of a system tracking error and convergence to a zero point are guaranteed, and rapid and stable position tracking and pose adjustment of the quadrotor unmanned plane are realized. The method is advantaged in that system performance is improved, and rapid and stable system position tracking and pose adjustment are realized.
