A semiconductor wafer to be diced into individual SBDs, HEMTs or MESFETs has a substrate with a main semiconductor region and counter semiconductor region formed on its opposite surfaces. The main semiconductor region is configured to provide the desired semiconductor devices. In order to counterbalance the warping effect of the main semiconductor region on the substrate, as well as to enhance the voltage strength of the devices made from the wafer, the counter semiconductor region is made similar in configuration to the main semiconductor region. The main semiconductor region and counter semiconductor region are arranged in bilateral symmetry as viewed in a cross-sectional plane at right angles with the substrate surfaces.

Elastography Using Ultrasound Imaging of a Thin Volume

The embodiments described herein relate generally to an elastography method and system for obtaining ultrasound images of an excited tissue over a certain time period, then computationally determining one or more mechanical properties of the tissue within a real time refresh rate. This method can perform elastography in real time as only a thin volume of the excited tissue is imaged and processed. The thin volume includes a desired cross-sectional plane of the tissue and at least two adjacent planes that are adjacent to the desired cross-sectional plane. A maximum number of adjacent planes is selected so that a computer system is capable of computationally determining mechanical properties within a real time refresh rate.

Hot fatigue performance test and analysis method for steel

The invention relates to a test and analysis method of the heat weary performance of steel, which belongs to the field of the performance and test analysis of metal material. The invention is characterized in that the quantitative research and analysis of the heat weary performance is realized. And the invention has following technological processes and steps: (1) the specimen is processed into a shape which has two side surfaces, one of the two surfaces is connected with temperature controlling equipment through a thermo-element, and the highest heating temperature of the specimen can be controlled. The two surfaces are both grinded into the state of polishing. (2) The specimen is put in the center of the induction coil of the heat weary performance testing machine, and then is cooled by circulation cooling water; the highest heating temperature is set, and the cooling time is set. After the heat weary performance testing, the specimen is processed with etch cleaning, and the oxide skin on the surface of the specimen is removed; cracks on the surface of the specimen is given a photo by zoom stereo microscope; the specimen is cut crosswise along the closest packed cracks, and then is grinded and polished and is again given a photo of the sectional plane. (3) The photo is input into the computer, and the cracks are quantitatively analyzed by heat weary performance cracking image analysis system.
