298 results about "Remote diagnostics" patented technology

Remote diagnostics is the act of diagnosing a given symptom, issue or problem from a distance. Instead of the subject being co-located with the person or system done diagnostics, with remote diagnostics the subjects can be separated by physical distance (e.g., Earth-Moon). Important information is exchanged either through wire or wireless.

Remote anomaly diagnosis and reconfiguration of an automatic data collection device platform over a telecommunications network

The invention provides a system and method for remotely diagnosing and repairing a plurality of Automatic Data Collection (“ADC”) device platforms. A remote service technician utilizes a computing system having browsing software that communicates with a network of ADC platform devices. Diagnostic queries for particular ADC devices may be retrieved by the browsing software from a diagnostic server that sends Hypertext Mark-Up Language (“HTML”) documents, Dynamic Hypertext Mark-Up Language (“DHTML”) documents, and / or Extensible Mark-Up Language (“XML”) documents containing appropriate diagnostic applets. The remote technician sends diagnostic queries to a Simple Network Management Protocol (“SNMP”) master agent at the ADC device platform, and a translator translates the diagnostic queries sent to the ADC device platform into a format suitable for reception by its ADC devices in order to effect anomaly diagnosis and functionality restoration. Another translator translates data received from the ADC device into the SNMP format for transmission to the remote service technician in order for the remote service technician to perform diagnostic analysis. The SNMP master agent communicates with the remote computing system using the Transmission Control Protocol (“TCP”), the User Datagram Protocol / Internet Protocol (“UDP / IP”), and / or the User Datagram Plus Protocol (“UDP+”). The ADC platform device may also utilize a wireless communication system for communicating with the remote service technician.

Remote diagnostic device for medical testing

A remote diagnostic device for medical testing includes a kit dispenser (315), a sampling device (85) contained in the kit (59), a receiving web (62) for receiving a sample (64) after use by a user (305), a processor for developing the latent image, a scanner (195) for detecting a developed image, and a microprocessor (205) for analyzing the scanned image for pathogens. The receiving web forms a latent image of any pathogens present in the sample.

Method and System for Retrieving Diagnostic Information

A system, method, and apparatus for retrieving trouble codes from an equipment under diagnosis and retrieving only relevant diagnostic information relative to the returned codes from one or more remote diagnostic libraries. An electronic diagnostic library contains diagnostic vehicle information tagged with trouble code identification ID's at a first location, and a diagnostic tool at a second location requests only relevant diagnostic information from the electronic library that is tagged with trouble code identification ID's corresponding to the retrieved trouble codes and information identifying the equipment under diagnosis. The diagnostic tool receives the specific diagnostic vehicle information at the first location and may store the specific vehicle information locally prior to displaying an index to the information to a repair technician.

Method and system of remote diagnostic, control and information collection using multiple formats and multiple protocols with delegating protocol processor

A system, method and program product for diagnosing, controlling and collecting information from devices. Information regarding events of each one of a plurality of target applications executing in an application unit is collected and formatted into one of multiple data formats for transmission through one of multiple communication protocols at the request of each of the target applications, through an interface. The event information for a particular target application is formatted and transmitted according to a combination of a data format and communication protocol requested by the target application. The transmission of data representing the event information is handled in at least two levels of software classes, with at least one abstract software class having a declared virtual function and two or more software classes derived from the at least one abstract class and having definitions of the function for communicating the event information through specified communication protocols. The formatted data is transmitted through, e.g., e-mail or FTP to a predetermined destination or may be saved to local storage, e.g., a local disk. By sharing resources, code duplication is reduced or eliminated.

Remote status monitoring and fault diagnosis system for distributed devices

A long-distance state monitoring and fault diagnosing system of a distributing equipment is based on the Internet as the network communication basis and is used for Web Service technology construction. The invention consists of a field workstation, a long-distance monitoring and diagnosing center and three sub-systems of the long-distance diagnosing workstation. The field workstation collects equipment functioning parameters, monitors the equipment functioning state at real time and diagnoses field faults of the equipment. The long-distance monitoring and diagnosing center carries out real time long-distance state monitoring to all fields, receives workstation service requests and diagnoses the equipment long-distance faults. The long-distance diagnosing workstation receives cooperation request from the long-distance monitoring and diagnosing center and cooperates to complete the equipment fault diagnosis through Web service port. The system has good universality and configurability and can conveniently and quickly establish the application system aimed at different equipment monitoring and diagnosing requirements to realize equipment long-distance state monitoring and fault diagnosing on the basis of the Internet.
