Data measurements are transformed into a constant rate equivalent pressure transformation to obtain adjusted pressures or adjusted pseudovariables which are analyzed to identify dual unit-slope before and after closure periods confirming a residual retaining width.

Leakage rate estimation system and method for product oil pipelines based on zero dimension

The invention provides a leakage rate estimation system and method for product oil pipelines based on zero dimension and belongs to the technical field of leakage rate detection for the product oil pipelines. The method comprises the following steps: effectively analyzing a lot of data collected on site in a reasonable time, obtaining the state of a whole pipe segment by using a pressure sensor array, and therefore obtaining the pressure changing trend of the pipeline; meanwhile, analyzing whether the pipeline has abnormal conditions or not by adopting a flow balance method and combining with an information consistency theory. The method is visualized and simple, is high in sensitivity and low in false alarm rate and can precisely give an alarm for detection of the small leakage rate and slow leakage. A BP neural network is adopted to calculate the rate of pressure decay of the pipeline, so that the accuracy of the final result is improved. Meanwhile, the method adopting dimensionless modeling decreases the calculated amount and increases the calculation accuracy.

A method of analysing a reservoir pressure in an underground formation surrounding a well, comprising: determining the permeability of mud cake on the wall of the well in the region in which the pressure measurement is made; determining the thickness of mud cake on the well of the well in the region in which the pressure measurement is made; determining the hydrostatic pressure in the well in the region in which the pressure measurement is made; measuring the formation pressure at the wall of the well; calculating a pressure decay index from the mud cake permeability and thickness, the hydrostatic pressure and the measured pressure; and using the pressure decay index to analyse the measured pressure to derive the reservoir pressure.

Compressed air system and method of control

A compressed air system, wherein a decision to de-energize a compressor motor is made with consideration of the likely need for the operation of the compressor at a future point in time. A rate of pressure decay in an air reservoir may be extrapolated over a predetermined time period to predict the need for operation of the compressor within the time period. If operation of the compressor is predicted to be needed within the time period, the compressor is allowed to continue to run in an unloaded mode beyond a normal cool down period.
