A multi-user system for creating and maintaining a knowledge base is implemented on a variety of computer systems, including single-user personal computers, networked personal computers, and data communications networks, including the Internet. The system has a graphic user interface which can be easily learned by non-programmers. The knowledge base is displayed as a hierarchical multiplicity of nodes, in which each node is related to one or more superior nodes. Method and apparatus for recommending selections based on preferences in a multi-user system

A system for determining selections that a user is likely to be interested in. The determination is made based on the user's prior indicated preferences. The user designates his or her preferred selections as entries in a user's preference list. Entries in the user's list are compared with entries in the other users' lists. When a significant number of matches have been found between two lists, the unmatched entries of the other user's preference list are extracted. The unmatched entries are further processed. Those unmatched entries with a high correlation to the user's preference list are presented to the user as selections in which the user is likely to be interested.

Method and system of operating a multi-user system

A method and system is disclosed for grouping the multiple stations connected to an access point (AP). The system and method comprise sending a sounding packet to a plurality of stations, wherein the stations may be all or part of the stations that are located within the range of the AP. The stations that receive the sounding packets respond to the AP, and the AP determines the channel state information (CSI) from the responses. According to the CSI, the AP divides the multiple stations into several groups. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a confirmation step is performed to each group of stations, respectively. The AP sends a second sounding packet to each group of stations, and verifies the CSI between each station group by group. Therefore, the method and system provides for monitoring the validation of each group by periodically sending sounding packets to each group.

The invention provides a multi-user multi-input and output MIMO pre-coding method, which comprises the following steps: obtaining CQI parameters of system user combinations, selecting a biggest CQI parameter in the obtained CQI parameters, determining the signal-to-noise ratio according to the biggest CQI parameter, obtaining a system channel matrix, generating a unit matrix according to the obtained channel matrix, generating a pre-coding matrix according to the unit matrix, the channel matrix and the signal-to-noise ratio, and using the pre-coding matrix to pre-process the user combinations. The invention also provides a multi-user multi-input and output MIMO pre-coding system which is corresponding to the method. The multi-user multi-input and output MIMO pre-coding method and system thereof, which are provided by the invention solve the problem that a corresponding pre-coding matrix can not be accurately determined to pre-code due to extremely high complexity of terminal feedback information in a multi-user MIMO system.

Provided is a method for adaptive transmit power allocation in a multiuser OFDM system. The method includes: a) obtaining a channel gain for a predetermined bit period for each user at a predetermined time, and allocating all of available sub carriers to a user farthest separated among a plurality of users having a good channel gain; b) comparing a channel gain of the user allocated with the subcarrier at the step a) with an initial threshold value; c) allocating a transmit power uniformly to each of the sub carries allocated at the step a) using an Equal-power allocation algorithm if the channel gain is larger than the initial threshold value at the step b); and d) allocating a transmit power to each of the sub carriers allocated at the step a) using a water-filling power allocation algorithm if the channel gain is smaller than the initial threshold value at the step b).
