The invention discloses a congestion early warning method for an expressway
bottle-neck road segment. The congestion early warning method comprises the following steps that data of all
toll stations,flow data of vehicles which enter and leave from the stations and
mobile phone signaling data of all users who enter the stations in a selected area are collected; OD matrix models of the
toll stations and the road resistance coefficients of all paths in all OD pairs are established, and the optimal paths of all the OD pairs are determined; according to the collected
mobile phone signaling data, the vehicle speed is evaluated, and the required time when the vehicles run to the
bottle-neck road segment is calculated; the flow of the vehicles which reach the
bottle-neck road segment in a
specific time period is counted, and if the flow of the vehicles exceeds a
traffic flow threshold valve of the bottle-neck road segment, congestion early warning is conducted. The congestion early warning method for the expressway bottle-neck road segment has the advantages that the
mobile phone signaling data is used for evaluating the vehicle speed and the flow data of entrances of the
toll stations, the flow of the vehicles which pass through the bottle-neck road segment in a certain
time range is predicted, early warning can be conducted ahead of schedule, and the running efficiency of an expressway can be improved; application of physical detection devices such as ground sensing coils can also be avoided to a certain extent, and the cost is saved.
