A live-line working device for defect detection of a composite insulator of a
power transmission line comprises a photoelectric
electric field sensor, an insulating rod, sliding tracks, an elevating mechanism, a polarized
light source module and a ground collection and calculation module. The sliding tracks are separated from the external surface of a big umbrella skirt of the insulator for certain distance, the photoelectric
electric field sensor is connected with the insulating rod, and the insulating rod is connected with the elevating mechanism. A
laser source in the polarized
light source module is connected with the photoelectric
electric field sensor, and polarized light is modulated in the photoelectric
electric field sensor, then transmitted a next stage of polarization maintaining
fiber, and input to a
photoelectric conversion module; and the
photoelectric conversion module converts a polarized
light signal modulated by the electric field into an
electric signal, and the
electric signal is connected to a collection card of an industrial control computer of the ground collection and calculation module. Thus, internal defects of the composite insulator during network operation of the
power transmission line is detected, line maintenance staff is helped to discover the internal defect timely, and the
operational stability of the
power transmission line can be improved. The live-line working device is especially suitable for internal defect detection of vertical string or V-shaped
composite insulators.
