In this paradigm, connectivity may well be intermittent, end-host and in-network storage can be capitalized upon transparently, as bits in the network and on data storage devices have exactly the same value, mobility and multi access are the norm and anycast, multicast, and broadcast are natively supported. One embodiment of the present invention provides a system for correctly processing interests in an information-centric network (ICN). During operation, the system receives, by a first node in the ICN, an interest for a piece of content from a second node. The interest specifies a name of the content piece. The system determines, based on forwarding information and information associated with pending interests stored on the first node, whether a forwarding condition or an interest aggregation condition is satisfied. In response to the forwarding condition being satisfied, the system forwards the interest. In response to the interest aggregation condition being satisfied, the system aggregates the interest.

The invention relates to an SDN (software-defined networking)-based ICN (information-centric networking) routing method. According to the method, the thought of the separation of control and forwarding of SDN (software-defined networking) is fused in an ICN (information-centric networking) structure, network sources and network statuses are sensed, and the content name-based routing of the ICN is realized. The method mainly comprises following two steps: (1) if the interest packet of the query content of the ICN and the content are located in the same controller and are in the same community, a shortest path is adopted to forward the interest packet, if the interest packet of the query content of the ICN and the content are not in the same community, a shortest path which passes the least communities is adopted to forward the interest packet; and (2) if the interest packet of the query content of the ICN and the content are not under the same controller, query is carried out according to the set of adjoining caching capacity importance degrees of current controller, if the content is in a node controlled by a certain adjoining controller, the data packet is returned to a user along a route, if the content is not in nodes controlled by the adjoining controllers, a controller with the largest neighbor connection importance degree is set as the current controller, a next round of query is carried out until the number of the times of query achieves the maximum number of the times of query. With the method adopted, problems such as low routing efficiency and difficult configuration of the ICN can be solved.

Caching method of ICN (Information-Centric Networking) based on SDN

The invention discloses a caching method of an ICN (Information-Centric Networking) based on an SDN, and belongs to the technical field of the Internet. The method is based on a caching mechanism of the ICN (Information-Centric Networking) of the SDN (software defined network). In the ICN, each network node has a storage function; network resources and network states are sensed through an SDN control plane; and cache placement and cache replacement are differentially realized in a whole network range through application of complex network community thoughts. The caching mechanism provided by the invention comprises two parts: a content cache placement mechanism, wherein in the mechanism, ICN data packets determine cache communities of nodes according to the community importance degree of communities to which the ICN data packets belong, and the popularity of to-be-cached contents, and in the same community, cache nodes are determined according to the node community importance degree and the popularity degree of the contents; and a cache content replacement mechanism, wherein in the mechanism, replacement contents are determined according to the node community importance degree of the nodes and the popularity degree of content objects. According to the method, the problems of low caching efficiency and inflexible control of the ICN can be solved well.

According to the multipath forwarding method disclosed by the invention, a subsequent forwarding request is guided by pre-judging the content buffered by a neighbor node, the buffer utilization rate is improved; and the invention further provides a forwarding system.

One embodiment of the present invention provides a computing system. The computing system includes a processor and a computer-readable storage medium. The computer-readable storage medium stores instructions which when executed by the processor cause the processor to perform a method. The method comprises identifying an identifier of an anchor node associated with a name in an update message received from a neighbor node. The anchor node stores a content object identifiable based on the name independent of the anchor node. The method also comprises determining a valid next-hop neighbor in the ICN for the name based on a sequence number of the update message generated by the anchor node and lexicographic order of an identifier of the neighbor node; and determining whether the anchor node is a designated anchor node based on the validity of the next-hop neighbor and a routing metric for the anchor node.
