InactiveUS20080053449A1Safe and effectiveMaintain Seal IntegrityBronchoscopesLaryngoscopesOropharyngeal suctionOxygen
A patient respiratory mask having a shell and a patient cushion for supplying oxygen during an endoscopic or bronchoscopic procedure. The mask has a first port for accepting an endoscope, a second port for accepting oropharyngeal suction, and an optional third port for carbon dioxide monitoring. The first and second ports are covered by preferably flexible, perforated diaphragms for maintaining the seal integrity during oxygen therapy.

Endoscopic system and methods having real-time medical imaging

Systems and methods for improving endoscopy procedures are described that provide not only a conventional real time image of the view obtained by an endoscope, but in addition, a near real time 3D model and / or a 2D flattened image of an interior surface of an organ, which model and image may be processed using AI software to highlight potential tissue abnormalities for closer examination and / or biopsy during the procedure. A navigation module interacts with other system outputs to further assist the endoscopist with navigational indicia, e.g., landmarks and / or directional arrows, that enhance the endoscopists' spatial orientation, and / or may provide navigational guidance to the endoscopist to assist manipulation of the endoscope.

Endoscope Tracking Device

The present invention provides an external apparatus that allows automated quantification of the quality of the endoscopy procedure and methods for using the same. The apparatus of the invention includes an endoscope tracking device that is operatively connected to an endoscope cord surface so that a variety of information related to movement of the endoscope can be accurately captured. Exemplary movement information include, but are not limited to, distance travelled by the endoscope, direction of movement by the endoscope, torque exerted by the endoscope, etc. The endoscope tracking device comprises an electromechanical tracking sensor(s) that produce movement information of the endoscope including the ratio of forward and backward movements as well as withdrawal time of the endoscope. As these metrics can be obtained automatically, the apparatus and the method of the present invention can be used as a quality control in daily medical practice. Furthermore, the apparatus and the method of the invention can be used to create or determine best practice standards for endoscopy procedure training or as part of medical skills evaluation.

Portable peripheral control device for simulating endoscopy procedures

The invention describes a portable peripheral control device (1) for simulating an endoscopy procedure, configured for connection to a computer (C), and comprising a mounting element (2) and a control lever (6), which controls The rod is constrained to the mounting element (2) and reproduces the handle of a medical flexible endoscope; the control rod (2) has a plurality of actuating means (8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, 9, "a", 8e, 8f) , these actuating devices replicate the corresponding actuating devices presented by the handle of the medical flexible endoscope; the peripheral control device (1) includes a motion device (10), the motion device is configured to simulate the tubular shape of the flexible endoscope movement of the element, and is configured to convert at least one actuation of the lever (6) into an electrical signal "s1" indicative of this actuation; the peripheral control device (1) is configured to convert the actuation means (8a, 8b, 8c, 8d, 9) at least one actuation is converted into an electrical signal "s2" representing the actuation, and is configured to convert the motion of the movement device (10) into an electrical signal "s3" representing the motion; peripheral The control device comprises at least one output means (31, 32, 33) for the electrical signals "s1", "s2", "s3".
