1556 results about "Collation" patented technology

Collation is the assembly of written information into a standard order. Many systems of collation are based on numerical order or alphabetical order, or extensions and combinations thereof. Collation is a fundamental element of most office filing systems, library catalogs, and reference books.

System-Level Correction Service

A system-level text correction service (330) is provided. The service (330) includes monitoring (410) the input of text (340) on a computer system, identifying an incorrect input word in a first application. Correction proposal words are retrieved from a system-level dictionary (320), wherein the system-level dictionary (320) stores a reference word with an identifier of at least one application type in which the reference word is used. The correction proposal words are ranked according to the similarity of the proposal word to the input word and by comparing the first application to the application types of the reference word.

Apparatus for providing information for vehicle

A system is provided with a conversation support means. A conversation support means creates a conversation response, and outputs it in a sound, a character, etc. A conversation response is created in a manner that combines words by inserting a reference keyword as a leading keyword in the response sentence model prepared separately. A conversation support means retrieves the reference keyword beforehand provided in conversation support by dictionary collation from the conversation entry content made by a sound, a manual entry, etc. by a user. Furthermore, the retrieved reference keyword themselves or another reference keyword associated with the retrieved reference keyword are handled as a leading keyword. A series of user conversation contents inputted by the conversation support are accumulated as a base data for determining a user interest. The base data is analyzed to determine a user interest for providing suitable information service.

Compression method for relational tables based on combined column and row coding

A robust method to compress relations close to their entropy while still allowing efficient queries. Column values are encoded into variable length codes to exploit skew in their frequencies. The codes in each tuple are concatenated and the resulting tuplecodes are sorted and delta-coded to exploit the lack of ordering in a relation. Correlation is exploited either by co-coding correlated columns, or by using a sort order that can leverage the correlation. Also presented is a novel Huffman coding scheme, called segregated coding, that preserves maximum compression while allowing range and equality predicates on the compressed data, without even accessing the full dictionary. Delta coding is exploited to speed up queries, by reusing computations performed on nearly identical records.

Systems, methods, and storage structures for cached databases

Systems and methods for clustered access to as many columns as possible given a particular ongoing query mix and a constrained amount of disk space is disclosed. A compressed database is split into group of columns, each column having duplicates removed and being sorted. Then certain groups are transferred to a fast memory depending on the record of previously received queries.

System and methods for automatic clustering of ranked and categorized search objects

A search results page includes multiple search lists generated by multiple clustering operations applied to an initial match set of documents selected based on a user query. A first result list is constructed by clustering a top-n set of documents by primary domain address and sorting based on extrinsic ranking factors such that the first list includes a ranked and ordered list of primary domain linked anchor text. A second result list is constructed by clustering the top-n set of documents based on a unified ranked occurrence of keywords within the top-n set of documents. The generated second list contains a plurality of cluster class references with each of the cluster class reference including a ranked ordered sub-list of the keywords occurring within the top-n set of documents and respectively associated with the cluster class reference, each of the keywords of the ranked ordered sub-lists including linking references to a corresponding one of the top-n set of documents. A third result list is constructed by clustering the top-n set of documents based on a ranked frequency of occurrence of internally linked anchor texts. The generated third result list includes the top-n set of the internally linked anchor texts and respective ranked and ordered sub-lists of linking references to primary domain Web-pages containing the corresponding one of the internally linked anchor texts.

System and method for automatically classifying text

A method is provided for automatically classifying text into categories. In operation, a plurality of tokens or features are manually or automatically associated with each category. A weight is then coupled to each feature, wherein the weight indicates a degree of association between the feature and the category. Next, a document is parsed into a plurality of unique tokens with associated counts, wherein the counts are indicative of the number of times the feature appears in the document. A category score representative of a sum of products of each feature count in the document times the corresponding feature weight in the category for each document is then computed. Next, the category scores are sorted by perspective, and a document is classified into a particular category, provided the category score exceeds a predetermined threshold.

System and method for searching and displaying text-based information contained within documents on a database

This invention provides a system method for search and displaying text-based documents, based upon user-input search terms that organizes and displays documentary search results in a series of clusters of documents that have been sorted in a manner that relates to the general relevance of those documents to the search terms. In particular, this system and method allows for the searching of large databases of related documents by utilizing citations between those documents to improve search efficiency as well as visualization of search results. The document databases (DD) are used to generate a document connectivity index (DCI), of which a copy is stored on (or remotely accessed by) the client computer. The client issues a search request to a DD server, which returns a list of matching documents. The client compares this list against the DCI to generate a sorted list of document clusters. Using a graphical interface, the user can view and navigate these clusters to identify and view documents of interest. The clusters can be displayed as nodes in which each document is a node and the selected (or, by default, highest ranking) document / node is centered on the screen with linked documents placed around it with appropriate link lines (the surrounding node-and-link display). Each node can be activated to re-centered the nod-and-link display and show the underlying document text body.

Smart connector patch panel

A system remotely collects test data from a test platform using platform attached sensors. Identification chips, each having a unique identification code, are each paired with an associated sensor to form sensor / chip pairs. At least one patch panel having a plurality of connections is positioned approximate to the platform. Connections are communicatively linked to each of the sensor / chip pairs. A computer system is communicatively linked to additional patch panel connections. The identification of selected sensors is queried by a computer command to the patch panels, and a group of sensors for a given test is identified and selected. Test data from each of the selected sensors is transferred through the patch panels to the computer system for collation and generation of a test setup compatible with a data acquisition system. Test setup information is downloaded to the data acquisition system in preparation for the next test.

Method and system of weighted context feedback for result improvement in information retrieval

A method and a system for re-ranking an existing result set of documents. A user starts a search by entering search term(s). The search term(s) is (are) transferred to a search engine which generates a result set ranked by the search term(s). The search engine, in parallel, automatically retrieves context information from returned result set which is related to the original set of documents. The search engine presents the context information to the user and asks for a feedback. The user performs a weighting of the presented context information in a range from “important” to “non-important”. The result set is then re-ranked with the user-weighted context information to increase the “rank distance” of important and non important documents. The documents that are on top of the list (highest context-weighted ranking value) represent the desired information.

Client terminal, software control method and control program

In order to prevent software sold by a software sale server to a user and downloaded to a computer of the user from being copied and used illegally, the software server is informed of apparatus information unique to the computer and a user ID assigned to the user when the computer of the user is sold to the user. When the user purchases software from the software server, the software server saves the name and version of the software, associating the name and the version with the user ID and the apparatus information. When the user activates the software for the first time, the computer transmits the user ID, the apparatus information, the software name and the software version to the software server to be collated with their respective counterparts, which were saved before. If a result of collation indicates that the pieces of information match their counterparts, a license key for activating the software is transmitted to the computer of the user.
