Rotary Valve

A rotary valve is disclosed having a rotor and stator that utilizes at least one compression spring to provide contact between the rotor and stator. The spring(s) is configured to oppose the pressure forces that urge the rotors and stators apart and reduce the amount of torque necessary to turn the rotors in the valve while preventing leakage from between the rotor and stator. The spring(s) may be positioned within the valve by a spring locating features.

A fully automatic bar code symbol reading system having an automatic (i.e., triggerless) portable bar code symbol reading device with an omnidirectional projection laser scanning engine mounted within the head portion of its hand-supportable housing, and an associated base unit positioned within the data transmission range thereof without a physical wiring connection thereto. The hand-supportable bar code symbol reading device produces a narrowly confined scanning volume for omnidirectional scanning of code symbols presented therein, while preventing unintentional scanning of code symbols on nearby objects located outside thereof.

Starting system for salient-poled-rotor electric motor

A starting system and method for starting a salient-poled-rotor electric motor having a stator with a plurality of spaced salient poles, a plurality of field coils of unchanging polarity, and a plurality of armature coils, wherein each field coil of the plurality of field coils at least partially overlaps an armature coil of the plurality of armature coils, and wherein variable excitement of the armature coils alternately creates a magnetic pole force in every other pole of the plurality of spaced salient poles of the stator. In such motors, the stator has a first position, wherein the rotor is in stasis with respect to the stator and torque between the rotor and the stator is substantially minimized, and a second position, wherein torque between the rotor and the stator is substantially maximized. A drive circuit provides current to the field coils and the armature coils. A start circuit is provided for regulating the drive circuit to vibrate the rotor to the second position. A current source is connectable to the drive circuit for variably exciting the armature coils to produce substantially continuous rotation of the rotor. A switch is provided for electrically engaging the start circuit with the drive circuit while the rotor moves from the first position to the second position, and for electrically engaging the current source with the drive circuit when the rotor reaches the second position.

Sleeve piston for actuating a firearm bolt carrier

InactiveUS9261314B1Reliability be provideMinimize torqueWeapon componentsPistonRifle
The embodiments described herein relate to a sleeve piston for operating the bolt carrier of an auto-loading firearm. The sleeve piston can comprise a monolithic sleeve piston or it can comprise two or more sleeve-piston parts, thereby evenly distributing the reciprocating mass of an auto-loading firearm about its barrel and minimizing muzzle rise when fired. The sleeve piston can be coupled to the bolt carrier by two or more operating rods, thereby reducing the tipping force experienced by the bolt carrier during firearm operation. The sleeve piston can reciprocate in or on a gas block coupled to the barrel, and the sleeve piston can be removed by sliding it forward and off the end of the barrel. The embodiments of the present invention can thus provide a balanced and compact operating mechanism that is ideally suited for rifles, carbines, and personal-defense weapons.

Drive Control Device for Work Vehicle

To provide a drive control system for a working vehicle, which can prevent engine stall with certainty even when a large load suddenly acts on a vehicle-mounted engine and which is also excellent in environment friendly performance. When a vehicle speed of a wheel loader (1) is determined to be not higher than a reference value (Yes) in step S4 and a forward / reverse command means (40) is determined to have been switchingly operated (Yes) in step S5, the routine advances to step S6 where an increment ΔN of engine speed according to an engine load factor is determined. In step S7, the increment ΔN of engine speed is then added to a target engine speed Na corresponding to a depression stroke of an accelerator pedal (38), the thus-determined Na=Na+ΔN is set as a new target engine speed Na, and a target engine speed command i1 is sent to an engine controller (37).

Increased diameter arthritic golf club grips

A golf club grip system having grips that have grip diameters ranging from 1.0 inches (25.4 mm) to 1.2 inches (30.5 mm). Additionally, each golf club grip may include an outer wrap and an inner layer. The outer wrap is substantially thinner than the inner layer and consists predominantly of polyurethane and felt. Specifically, in one exemplary embodiment, the outer wrap consists of two separate layers of polyurethane, a layer of felt, and two thin strips of adhesive tape. By utilizing these materials, the outer wrap provides a high traction, i.e., slip resistant, surface with improved shock and vibration dampening characteristics. Additionally, by utilizing the combination of the outer wrap and the inner layer, the grip provides shock absorption with substantially increased resistant to torsional forces.

Position and adjustment device using laser module

A position and adjustment device for a laser module has a cylindrical body having a bore therein, the body having a first plurality of openings and a second plurality of openings that are spaced apart around the body. A laser module is positioned inside the bore. The position and adjustment device also has a plurality of bolts, with each bolt extending through a corresponding one of the first openings into the bore, each bolt having an inner end and a rotating ball provided at the inner end and providing a rolling contact with the external surface of the laser module. The position and adjustment device also has a plurality of biased pins, with each pin extending through a corresponding one of the second plurality of openings into the bore, each pin having a curved inner end that provides a point contact with the external surface of the laser module.
