The invention relates to a method for breeding
flos caryophylli in a
plant manner, and belongs to the field of
grafting technologies for improving and optimizing garden
plant varieties. The method includes steps of selecting syringa reticulata to be used as rootstocks when rootstocks are yet to germinate and sap is about to flow in springs,
cutting off the upper portions of the rootstocks at smooth and straight positions of main trunks of the rootstocks and
smoothing cross sections; selecting developing branches of
syringa pubescens to be used scions, and respectively
cutting two
cut surfaces on two opposite sides of the lower portion of each scion; carrying
grafting, to be more specific, downwardly
cutting bark at each cross section of each
rootstock to form a vertical opening, peeling away the
bark at the vertical openings, inserting the scions into the vertical openings and tightening
grafting positions. The method has the advantages that the method is high in grafting
survival rate and is simple, convenient and feasible, the syringa reticulata is used as the rootstocks, and accordingly the selection range of the rootstocks can be expanded; characteristics of
cold resistance, long flower seasons and large quantities of flower buds of the syringa reticulata can be kept, excellent characteristics of climate and soil adaptability,
disease resistance,
insect resistance and the like of the
syringa pubescens can be inherited, and accordingly the method has high popularization value.
