System for designing integrated circuits with enhanced manufacturability

A system and method for integrated circuit design are disclosed to enhance manufacturability of circuit layouts through generation of hierarchical design rules which capture localized layout requirements. In contrast to conventional techniques which apply global design rules, the disclosed IC design system and method partition the original design layout into a desired level of granularity based on specified layout and integrated circuit properties. At that localized level, the design rules are adjusted appropriately to capture the critical aspects from a manufacturability standpoint. These adjusted design rules are then used to perform localized layout manipulation and mask data conversion.

Ultra wide bandwidth spread-spectrum communications system

An ultra wide bandwidth, high speed, spread spectrum communications system uses short wavelets of electromagnetic energy to transmit information through objects such as walls or earth. The communication system uses baseband codes formed from time shifted and inverted wavelets to encode data on a RF signal. Typical wavelet pulse durations are on the order of 100 to 1000 picoseconds with a bandwidth of approximately 8 GHz to 1 GHz, respectively. The combination of short duration wavelets and encoding techniques are used to spread the signal energy over an ultra wide frequency band such that the energy is not concentrated in any particular narrow band (e.g. VHF: 30-300 MHz or UHF: 300-1000 MHz) and is not detected by conventional narrow band receivers so it does not interfere with those communication systems. The use of pulse codes composed of time shifted and inverted wavelets gives the system according to the present invention has a spatial resolution on the order of 1 foot which is sufficient to minimize the negative effects of multipath interference and permit time domain rake processing.

System and Method for Software Debugging

The software debugging system provides a processor that is executing a software process, and the software process has a bug or other failure. A fast-response reporter circuit connects to a low level asset in the processor, such as a reorder buffer, commit buffer, or high speed data path. The fast response reporter circuit is configured to selectively extract data from the low-level asset, and the extracted data is transmitted to an evidence file for review and analysis. In one arrangement, a fast-response sentry circuit also connects to a low-level asset in the processor, and is configured to monitor for a predefined event. When the predefined event occurs, the fast-response sentry circuit causes an action to occur, such as activation of the reporter fast-response circuit.

Light-emitting element and light-emitting device employing the same

An object is to provide a white light-emitting element which emits broad white light which is close to natural light and covers a wide wavelength range; that is, a white light-emitting element which has a broad spectrum waveform. Further, there are various different kinds of white light; however, in particular, an object is to provide a white light-emitting element which emits white light which is close to the standard white color of the NTSC. Over a substrate 100, a second light-emitting element 110 and a first light-emitting element 120 are stacked in series. The first light-emitting element 120 exhibits a light emission spectrum having two peaks (two peaks in the blue to green wavelength range) and is disposed close to a film of light-reflecting material. The second light-emitting element 110 exhibits a light emission spectrum having a peak in the orange to red wavelength range, and is disposed in a position which is not close to the film of light-reflecting material.

Optical receiving system of doppler wind lidar

The application discloses an optical receiving system of doppler wind lidar (DWL). According to the invention, two independent optical paths are employed; a fraction of lights, which are ejected by a laser, are collected by a first coupler; and the collected lights pass optical elements including a spectroscope and a reflective mirror and the like and then penetrate into a locking channel of a Fabry-Perot (FP) etalon; atmosphere backward dispersion lights are collected by a second coupler; the collected atmosphere backward dispersion lights pass the optical elements including the spectroscope and the reflective mirror and the like and then penetrate into two signal channels of the FP etalon. Because the optical signals of the locked channel is dispersion lights from a light-emitting window of the laser, so that optical light loss of signal channels is reduced. Moreover, the intensity of the portion of the dispersion lights is larger than the intensity of the atmosphere backward dispersion lights, so that a frequency locking efficiency is improved and a measurement precision of an atmospheric wind field can also be enhanced. Meanwhile, a caliber of the locking channel of the FP etalon can be reduced, so that processing cost of the FP etalon is substantially reduced; besides, the optical path system is simple, which is favor of adjustment of the optical path.
