Prevention of outgoing spam

InactiveUS20050021649A1Facilitates mitigating spammer manipulationFacilitates detecting and preventingData processing applicationsComputer security arrangementsSpammingSubject matter
The subject invention provides for a system and method that facilitates detecting and preventing spam in a variety of networked communication environments. In particular, the invention provides several techniques for monitoring outgoing communications to identify potential spammers. Identification of potential spammers can be accomplished at least in part by a detection component that monitors per sender at least one of volume of outgoing messages, volume of recipients, and / or rate of outgoing messages. In addition, outgoing messages can be scored based at least in part on their content. The scores can be added per message per sender and if the total scores) per message or per sender exceeds some threshold, then further action can be taken to verify whether the potential spammer is a spammer. Such actions include human-inspecting a sample of the messages, sending challenges to the account, sending a legal notice to warn potential spammers and / or shutting down the account.

Package assembly for forming beverage pods

A compact and lightweight personal pod making system is provided. The pod making system has a base for receiving a pod packaging material and a sealing tool pivotably connected to the base. The system can be used at home, in the office and even outdoors. A pod package assembly that can be used in conjunction with the personal pod making system is also provided. The pod package assembly can include a cup-like holder that is hingedly connected to a cover so that it is relatively easy for users to align the cover when sealing the pod.

Pressurized water-soluble pouch

InactiveUS7325688B1Easily fitLess susceptible to ruptureFlexible coversWrappersWater solubleAqueous solution
A pressurized pouch is made of a water-soluble material, preferably PVA film, to hold a concentrated product for later mixing in a bottle to provide a water solution. Because of the interior pressure, the water-soluble pouch retains a semi-rigid resilient shape that greatly facilitates its introduction through the neck of the bottle. The pressurized pouch can be made by either VFFS or HFFS machines wherein a puff of air is added prior to sealing. Alternatively, the pouch is made by filling it in a pressurized chamber.

Layer sequence repeater module for a modular disk co-extrusion die and products thereof

ActiveUS20130243894A1Less massLowered physical propertyConfectionerySynthetic resin layered productsEngineeringCo extrusion
A layer sequence repeater module for a co-extrusion die includes a cell formed of a plurality of thin annular disks stacked on top of each other in an axial direction of the co-extrusion die. Each disk includes a plurality of openings aligned with openings in the adjacent disks, thus forming multiple inner and outer melt passages. At least one of the layer sequence repeater module includes at least one first cap disk, at least one second cap disk, at least one distribution disk, at least one repeater disk and at least one spreader disk. The layer sequence repeater module may be a separately assembled and individually removable module of the co-extrusion die. Alternatively or additionally, the layer sequence repeater module may be incorporated into a module of the co-extrusion die.

Phased array system capable of computing gains for non-measured calibration points

InactiveUS20150377840A1Improving PAUT calibration processLess user manipulationStatic/dynamic balance measurementProcessing detected response signalNon destructiveReference database
Disclosed is a calibration method and system for non-destructive testing and inspection (NDT / NDI). The method and system involve establishment of a reference database by conducting FMC acquisition on a first calibration block having standardly known indications with a first series of depths and under a laboratory standard calibration condition. Then phased-array operation is conducted on a second calibration block, which is substantially the same as the first block, having indications with a series of corresponding user measured depths and under a second calibration condition as close to the laboratory condition as possible. The calibration is then made with the gain compensation calculated based on the response signals from the indications of the second block, the first series of gain data from the reference database, and the user measured depths for the corresponding indications under the second calibration condition.

Conditional knockout method for gene trapping and gene targeting using an inducible gene silencer

A method for conditionally knocking out and altering gene function and genetic sequences that can be used in such methods, for use in gene trapping and gene targeting. Specifically, the genetic sequence is a inducible gene silencer comprising: (a) a splice acceptor sequence; (b) an internal ribosomal entry site (IRES) sequence; (c) a nucleotide sequence coding for a reporter protein; (d) a polyadenylation sequence; and (e) a pair of oppositely oriented recombination site sequences, which cause single cycle inversions in the presence of a suitable recombinase enzyme, flanking elements (a) through (d).
