A tamper-proof electronic security seal which includes a bolt and a locking element and an electronic seal element. The bolt has a head and a hollow shank extending therefrom having a longitudinal bore formed therein. The shank is dimensioned to pass through a lock hasp and has a free end formed for locking engagement with the locking element. The electronic seal element is formed for mechanical connection to the bolt head, and includes an electrical power source, a control unit, communications means responsive to the control unit and a sensor adapted for insertion into the longitudinal bore of the shank, and connected to the control unit. In response to a severing of the shank and the sensor inserted therein, the control unit is operative to activate the communications means to emit an alarm signal.

As a non-contact ID label, ID tag and the like being widespread, it is required to manufacture a considerable quantity of ID labels at quite a low cost. An ID label attached to a product is, for example, required to be manufactured at 1 to several yens each, or preferably less than one yen. Thus, such a structure and a process are demanded that an ID label can be manufactured in a large quantity at a low cost. A thin film integrated circuit device included in the ID label, the ID card, and the ID tag of the invention each includes a thin film active element such as a thin film transistor (TFT). Therefore, by peeling a substrate on which TFTs are formed for separating elements, the ID label and the like can be manufactured in a large quantity at a low cost.

The method of providing for rapid identification of personnel attending surgery for enhancing surgical or surgical related procedure efficiency, that includes providing a surgical related item selected from one or more of the following: a disposable lightweight face mask, a disposable lightweight cap, or a disposable lightweight gown; the provision of that item including fabricating a label integrated into the item, to face outwardly; at or close to the time of surgery writing the item wearer's identification on the label; the above steps effected to allow persons in the surgical procedure area to instantly visually observe that identification, during surgery, to enable the wearer's quick summoned assistance to the surgeon, in aid of such procedure.

A business form particularly adapted for use in a medical or hospital environment includes in a first embodiment a wristband assembly that is readily separable from a carrier comprised of a layer of face stock and a laminate, with the wristband including a printable face stock region die cut into the face stock and a strap portion, a laminating portion, and a cinch die cut into the laminate layer. The laminating portion includes two halves which fold together about a fold line to enclose the face stock, with the strap portion extending from one of said halves. The cinch may be located in one of two locations, either in an extension from the other side of the face stock or intermediate the face stock and the strap portion. In either case the cinch comprises a slot through which the strap portion is inserted and then adhered to itself after its length has been adjusted by the medical professional. If an extension is provided, it may be folded over to adhere to the strap portion and clamp it in place there as well as being adhered at its end back onto itself, as described. An extender is also described which includes a clamshell joinder and a tail portion. The clamshell portion may be applied to the strap portion anywhere along its length to extend the effective length of the strap portion. Any of the wristband constructions may be provided on a page sized sheet along with a plurality of self adhering labels, in any of a number of configurations, to suit any particular application, as desired by a user.

A faced fibrous insulation assembly includes: a fibrous insulation blanket whose fibers, preferably, are bonded together with a formaldehyde free binder; a facing formed by a kraft paper sheet material; and an asphalt coating layer on the inner surface of the facing that bonds the facing to the fibrous insulation blanket. The asphalt coating layer contains an odor-reducing additive in an amount sufficient to substantially eliminate odor that would otherwise be emitted by the asphalt coating layer without adversely affecting the adherent qualities of the asphalt coating layer. Preferably, the facing and the asphalt coating layer are fungi growth resistant.

A printed image is disclosed wherein the image may be in the form of an array of magnetically aligned platelets or flakes that may by uniform in shape and size and wherein the flakes are arranged in a particularly manner to form optically illusive images useful as security devices, or useful in beam steering applications. In one embodiment of this invention printed array is disclosed a plurality of concentric rings of magnetically aligned platelets disposed upon a substrate in the form of a Fresnel structure, preferably a Fresnel reflector. Advantageously, since the magnetic field can be controlled with respect to strength and direction, one can easily design a field that will correct for spherical aberration that would otherwise be present in a typical Fresnel reflector. An identification bracelet for mounting about a person's wrist or the like incorporates a sealable window to protect wearer-related information against contact with moisture and the like. The bracelet includes a flexible band defining an information-bearing zone, in combination with an overlying adhesive-backed transparent cover strip. In an initial state, the cover strip has opposite ends securely adhered to the band, and a central window segment separated from the band by a peel-off release film. The window segment is adapted for lift-away separation from the band as by tearing along a line of weakness line at one end thereof to expose the information-bearing zone for receiving wearer-related information, and for facilitated peel-off removal of the release film, followed by adhesively seating the strip central window segment onto the band in a manner defining a sealed perimeter overlying and protecting the wearer-related information.

An electronic display module having a four-point latching system for incorporation into an electronic sign and process where more than one latch mechanism can be actuated simultaneously to deploy to engage the mounting panel assembly of an electronic sign. Gear operated actuating arms incorporated in an overcenter arrangement position latch in opposing latch mechanisms to position latch arms outwardly in a linear direction over a mounting panel assembly followed by pivotal latch positioning to rotationally engage the latch arms against the mounting panel assembly to secure the electronic display module to the mounting panel assembly.

The linear object identification tag 10 can be attached to and detached from a linear object 40. This tag has a clip body having a pair of clip parts 1a, 1b openably joined to a base part 6, and a holding part 8, 9 which holds the linear object 40 inside the linear object identification tag and is formed on an inner face of at least one of the clip parts 1a, 1b. Installation is thus efficiently performed by simply inserting the linear object 40 through an aperture part. 7. An installation tool (FIGS. 12, 13) with guide parts (22c, 22d) for opening the clip parts (1a, 1b) as they are slid along the tool is disclosed. Described is a process of producing a concentrated liquid biocide formulation. Mixed together are (a) bromine chloride or bromine and (b) an aqueous solution of alkali metal salt of sulfamic acid having a pH of at least about 7, in amounts such that (i) the active bromine content of the solution is at least about 100,000 ppm (wt / wt), and (ii) the atom ratio of nitrogen to active bromine from (a) and (b) is greater than 1 when bromine is used and is greater than 0.93 when bromine chloride is used. Use of bromine chloride as the source of the active bromine in the process is preferred because in the resulting aqueous compositions, all of the bromine of the bromine chloride is made available as active bromine in solution. In other words, the chlorine of the bromine chloride is converted in the process to dissolved alkali metal chloride salt, thereby liberating all of the bromine as the active bromine content of the biocidal composition.

A product display device is comprised of a wire base structure with a plurality of spaced-apart, straight parallel wire supports extending in a front-to-back direction, and wire cross bars underlying the wire supports adjacent their front and back ends. Plastic base elements are snap-fitted to the cross bars at the front and back ends of the wire base structure, and a pusher means is provided on the base structure for urging displayed product items toward the front. A molded plastic barrier panei is mounted at the front of the front base element by vertical tabs which are received in vertical grooves at the front of the base element. The plastic barrier panel can be made of clear, transparent material for optimum viewing of the product being displayed. The panels can accommodate the presence of product identifying logos, graphics or other special information associated with a particular product.
