A lightweight millimeter wave outdoor unit includes a lightweight housing with a heat sink and mounting member configured for mounting on the antenna to form a wireless link. A millimeter wave transceiver board is formed of ceramic material and mounted within the housing. It includes a millimeter wave transceiver circuit that has microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC) chips and operable with the transmit and receive boards. An intermediate frequency (IF) board has components forming an intermediate frequency circuit operable with the millimeter wave transceiver circuit. A frequency synthesizer board has a signal generating circuit for generating local oscillator signals to the transceiver circuit. A controller board has surface mounted DC and low frequency discrete devices thereon forming power and control circuits that supply respective power and control signals to other circuits on other boards. A quick connect/disconnect assembly is operative with the housing for allowing the housing to be rapidly connected and disconnected to the antenna circuit contact members interconnect circuits between boards.

In one embodiment, a radio communication system comprises a removable antenna platform and an antenna interface bulkhead connected to a roof of a locomotive. The antenna platform includes a blind mate connector connected to an antenna mount. The antenna mount is connected to a ground plane. The antenna interface bulkhead includes a blind mate connector configured to mate with the blind mate connector of the antenna platform when the antenna platform is attached to the antenna interface bulkhead. The antenna interface bulkhead is configured to attach to the antenna platform in one orientation. Thus, one or more antennas may be quickly attached to or removed from the roof of the locomotive reducing maintenance time for the locomotive when an antenna upgrade may be desired.

Systems and methods are described for detachable antennas. A wireless communications device includes: a cam body defining a rotation axis, the cam body including a retaining zone having a snap-fit receptacle; a signal pin including a first signal pin end and a second signal pin end; an antenna conductively coupled to the first signal pin end; a signal clip with a protrusion, a contact pad with a recess, and a key pin that extends from the signal pin, the key pin having a first key pin end and a second key pin end, and being snap-fit into the snap-fit receptacle. The systems and methods provide advantages in that the detachable antenna is easily replaced without tools.

An antenna module for a motor vehicle has a first antenna device having at least one antenna 5, 7, 9, 11, 13 for the exterior of the motor vehicle, which antenna is arranged in the external area of the motor vehicle, and a second antenna device having at least one antenna 25, 27, 29, 31 for the interior of the motor vehicle, which antenna is arranged in the interior of the motor vehicle, the first antenna device and second antenna device being electrically coupled to each other for the purpose of supplying electricity to the antenna devices.

An antenna module for use with a mobile telecommunication device such as a mobile phone. The antenna module includes an antenna element and, preferably, an RF (radio frequency) chain having receive circuitry and perhaps an analog-to-digital converter or other electrical components. Transmit circuitry may be present as well. The antenna module has a housing, in one or more parts, for supporting these components, and a jack through which power and data links can be formed. The jack may provide a means for adjusting the antenna so that its orientation relative to the mobile phone antenna may be altered.

An antenna mount includes a frame formed by a front plate and a rear plate connected by a separator, which has a concave seat centrally located on its upper surface. A rotator element is pivotally secured between the front and rear plates, and is rotatable either clockwise or counterclockwise through the support frame. The antenna comprises a piece of conductive metal including a half-bowtie portion shaped to define a monopole and folded to provide a plurality of planar surfaces together generally enclosing a volume. A modular plug-in antenna array capable of low cost and automated manufacturing is disclosed. The antenna element is designed to work efficiently over a broadband with simplified assembly requirements and to be used in discrete or array applications. Plug-in antennas eliminate the need for external tools, and allow the antenna to be removed, for service, test, and ease of assembly. Many transceivers are assembled using printed circuit board techniques whereon electronic components are mounted using a pick and place process. The plug-in antenna connects directly onto the circuit board; with connectors that are compatible with a pick and place process and which are produced in mass quantities for the computer and telecommunications industry, thus yielding lower costs than traditional high performance RF coaxial connectors. With demands for higher antenna bandwidth, the disclosed simplified plug-in antenna provides an appropriate balance between performance and the ease of modular assembly, manufacture, and costs.

A multi-panel antenna system may be disassembled and packaged into a container with substantially smaller dimensions than the assembled antenna system. The antenna system may include two or more reflector panels, such that a respective reflector panel can include a curved surface that may form a portion of a parabolic reflector, and can include an inter-panel fastener operable to align a side surface of the respective reflector panel with a side surface of another reflector panel. The antenna system may also include a mounting assembly that may be used to fasten a convex side of the two or more reflector panels to a surface external to the antenna system, and a feed assembly that may be attached to the mounting assembly.

An electronic device comprises a casing, an electronic element, and an ejection mechanism. The casing has a receiving space and an opening. The ejection mechanism includes: a holder for holding and carrying the electronic element to pass through the opening to be exposed outside the casing; a first biasing spring biasing the holder to project outwardly from the opening; a stopping member rotatably pivoted to the casing and contactable with a projection of the holder; a second biasing spring biasing the stopping member to contact the projection, and having an elastic modulus greater than that of the first biasing spring; and a releasing member operable for driving the stopping member to detach from the projection.
