926 results about "X-ray generator" patented technology

An X-ray generator is a device that produces X-rays. Together with an X-ray detector, it is commonly used in a variety of applications including medicine, fluorescence, electronic assembly inspection, and measurement of material thickness in manufacturing operations. In medical applications, X-ray generators are used by radiographers to acquire x-ray images of the internal structures (e.g., bones) of living organisms, and also in sterilization.

Field emitter based electron source for multiple spot x-ray

A multiple spot x-ray generator is provided that includes a plurality of electron generators. Each electron generator includes an emitter element to emit an electron beam, a meshed grid adjacent each emitter element to enhance an electric field at a surface of the emitter element, and a focusing element positioned to receive the electron beam from each of the emitter elements and focus the electron beam to form a focal spot on a shielded target anode, the shielded target anode structure producing an array of x-ray focal spots when impinged by electron beams generated by the plurality of electron generators. The plurality of electron generators are arranged to form an electron generator matrix that includes activation connections electrically connected to the plurality of electron generators, wherein each electron generator is connected to a pair of the activation connections to receive an electric potential therefrom.

Lobster eye X-ray imaging system and method of fabrication thereof

A Lobster Eye X-ray Imaging System based on a unique Lobster Eye (LE) structure, X-ray generator, scintillator-based detector and cooled CCD (or Intensified CCD) for real-time, safe, staring Compton backscatter X-ray detection of objects hidden under ground, in containers, behind walls, bulkheads etc. In contrast to existing scanning pencil beam systems, Lobster Eye X-Ray Imaging System's true focusing X-ray optics simultaneously acquire ballistic Compton backscattering photons (CBPs) from an entire scene irradiated by a wide-open cone beam from one or more X-ray generators. The Lobster Eye X-ray Imaging System collects (focuses) thousands of times more backscattered hard X-rays in the range from 40 to 120 keV (or wavelength λ=0.31 to 0.1 Å) than current backscatter imaging sensors (BISs), giving high sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and penetration through ground, metal walls etc. The collection efficiency of Lobster Eye X-ray Imaging System is optimized to reduce emitted X-ray power and miniaturize the device. This device is especially advantageous for and satisfies requirements of X-ray-based inspection systems, namely, penetration of the X-rays through ground, metal and other material concealments; safety; and man-portability. The advanced technology disclosed herein is also applicable to medical diagnostics and military applications such as mine detection, security screening and a like.

Medical X-ray apparatus

A medical X-ray apparatus comprising a supporting part for supporting an X-ray generator and a two-dimensional X-ray detector while interposing an object to be examined therebetween, a radiation area restricting part for restricting a radiation area of X-ray generated from the X-ray generator, and a scan driving part for scanning the object with the X-ray restricted by the radiation area restricting part as X-ray beam and for executing radiography. A direction intersecting with X-ray scan direction is defined as a height direction, the apparatus further comprises a radiation area setting part for setting at least one of both ends of width of the X-ray beam in the height direction at a desired position in accordance with the position of an interested area of the object; and the X-ray beam is irradiated only to the radiation area as set by the radiation area setting part with its beam width in height direction restricted by the radiation area restricting part.

Crystal direction finder for directly measuring deflecting angle in crystal orientation and measurement method thereof

The invention provides a crystal direction finder for directly measuring deflecting angle in crystal orientation, which is characterized in that one side of an objective table is connected with an X-ray generator, and the other side is connected with an X-ray detector, and an objective table is provided with a horizontal revolving bench, and the horizontal revolving stage can revolve a crystal to be measured parallely to the light propagation surface, and the center of the horizontal revolving bench is fixed with a vertical revolving stage, and the vertical revolving stage can revolve the crystal to be measured on the plane which is perpendicular to the light propagation surface; the crystal direction finder is used for directly finding the intersection line of the machined surface and the crystal face, and an angle measuring instrument of the objective table can be used for directly reading the deflecting angle beta in crystal orientation. The invention overcomes the defects that the present X-ray crystal direction finder has a complex operating method, wherein, the measurement process needs multiple times of rotations, dismountings and fixations of the detected crystal with low measurement efficiency, which is easy to induce cumulative errors and X-ray leakage.
