System and Method for Using Individualized Mixed Document

A Mixed Media Reality (MMR) system and associated techniques are disclosed. The MMR system provides mechanisms for forming a mixed media document that includes media of at least two types (e.g., printed paper as a first medium and digital content and / or web link as a second medium). In one particular embodiment, the mixed media document may also include hotspot images that uniquely identify a user associated with the mixed media document. Such individualized mixed media documents are used to identify users of the mixed media document, when orders for products or services are made using the mixed media documents through the MMR system.

Automated generation of configuration elements of an information technology system

A firewall rule generation method, a load balancing rule generation method, and a wrapper generation method, for an Information Technology (IT) system, associated computer program products, and an associated processes for integrating computing infrastructure. The firewall rule generation method generates firewall rules allowing data transmission between a computer and a client, and subsequently assigns the firewall rules to firewalls of the IT system. The load balancing rule generation method assigns a load balancing mechanism to a load balanced group to which execution of an application is assigned, wherein the load balanced group has servers therein. For a client and computer having a communication protocol therebetween that is not allowed by a security policy, the wrapper generation method generates a communication protocol wrapper that opens a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connection between the client and the computer such that the TCP connection is allowed by the security policy.

Mixed media reality brokerage network and methods of use

A Mixed Media Reality (MMR) system associated techniques are disclosed. The MMR system provides mechanisms for forming a mixed media document that includes media of at least two types (e.g., printed paper as a first medium and digital content and/or web link as a second medium). In one particular embodiment, the MMR system includes an MMR user, a MMR computer, a user printer that produces a printed document, a networked media server, a service provider server and a capture device. The MMR system of the present invention provides mechanisms for forming a mixed media document that includes media of at least two types, such as printed paper as a first medium and a digital photograph, digital movie, digital audio file, or web link as a second medium. The MMR system includes a MMR brokerage network having a customer, an MMR broker, an MMR service bureau and an MMR clearinghouse. The MMR brokerage network allows these entities to interact to provide a unified point of business access for the customer who wants to add MMR functionality to a document. More specifically, the MMR technology may be used to provide advertising associated with documents and MMR hotspots. Furthermore, the MMR system of the present invention facilitates business methods that take advantage of the combination of a portable electronic device, such as a cellular camera phone, and a paper document. The present invention also includes a number of novel methods including: a method for operation of a MMR brokerage network, a method for layout independent MMR recognition, a strip fragment candidate generation process, and a page candidate accumulation process.

Extensible multi-dimensional framework

Extensible Multi-Dimensional Framework (EMDF) is a system engineering framework for designing, developing and managing enterprise information technology systems. It includes two parts: multi-dimensional architecture framework (MDAF) and three-dimensional unified process (3DUP). MDAF includes comprehensive concepts for modeling an enterprise information technology system. 3DUP provides an iterative system development process. EMDF addresses an enterprise information technology system as a single entity. By projecting this entity on intertwined MDAF dimensions through the 3DUP lifecycle, all logical or physical elements encompassed in the entity will be exposed and captured in well-organized artifacts defined in MDAF. These elements are then prioritized and scheduled in a set of agile iterations. The iterations will be planned in parallel projects implemented by multiple development teams. During a long-term system development lifecycle, some elements may change. The dimensions included in MDAF provide a flexible framework to adjust system architectures, iterations and projects in order to adapt to such changes. The key deliverables of EMDF include an adaptive-to-change quality-focused architecture, optimistic agile iterations, and a market-centric business-driven risk-mitigating process.

Fault tree map generation

A method for Fault Tree Map generation employs to transformation of Fault Trees of production installation, specific installation, technical system (Hardware and integrated Hardware / Software) to new Fault Tree diagram (Fault Tree Map), which permits drastically compact the Fault Tree depiction and facilitates performing of the Fault Tree qualitative analysis, including evaluation of combination of latent failures and evident failures, repeated events and critical events position influence, and failure propagation potentiality, besides facility of localization of each Fault Tree logical Gate and relevant failures in the fault tree printed report. Generation takes place using special symbols, which permit to reflect the Fault Tree logic, present all Fault Tree failures with graphically identification of the failure type, and show the failure repetition and also the failure critically (importance) to Fault Tree Top Event probability. The method presents exceptional advantages to analysis of large-scale, extended Fault Trees, allowing vastly decrease the time of analysis and elevate the analysis quality and Fault Tree perception, including for specialists, who are not the Fault Tree authors.

Industrial area atmosphere VOCs (volatile organic compounds) automatic monitoring/prewarning/tracing system and method

The invention provides an industrial area atmosphere VOCs (volatile organic compounds) automatic monitoring / prewarning / tracing system and method, relating to the technical field of atmosphere VOCs monitoring / prewarning / tracing. The industrial area atmosphere VOCs automatic monitoring / prewarning / tracing system is composed of a plurality of atmosphere VOCs automatic monitoring systems 1, a server 2, a client 3, a mobile terminal 4 and the like which constitute the sites and are connected with each other. The method comprises the following steps: setting a plurality of atmosphere VOCs automatic monitoring system sites; preliminarily establishing an atmosphere VOCs emission source spectrum library; transmitting atmosphere VOCs and weather data to the server through the site; monitoring in real time or instantly starting the tracing technical system, and carrying out tracing calculation by the server; logging on a data display platform by the client; and quickly receiving and displaying pollution source information by the mobile terminal. The system and method implement real-time monitoring and high-concentration prewarning on VOCs emission, implement quick identification and diagnosis, enhance the technical level and management efficiency for environmental protection management to cope with atmosphere peculiar smell complaints of residents and peculiar smell sources, and provide technical and material basis for implementing intelligent cities and intelligent management in China.

Controlling operation of a technical system

ActiveUS20190033850A1Improve fidelityDown time of operation of the technical system may be reduced significantlyProgramme controlSafety arrangmentsComputer scienceControl unit
A system, a control unit, and a method for controlling operation of a technical system are provided. The technical system includes a plurality of sensors. The method includes receiving first sensor data from a first sensor of the plurality of sensors. The method includes detecting a first sensor anomaly based on failure of the first sensor to generate the first sensor data. The failure of the first sensor includes generation of anomalous first sensor data. The method also includes validating the first sensor anomaly based on a comparison between the first sensor data and a virtual first sensor data. Thereafter, a control command is generated to the technical system by replacing the virtual first sensor data in lieu of the first sensor data when the first sensor anomaly is validated.

Finger slide identification unlocking method for touch screen

The invention relates to a finger slide identification unlocking method for a touch screen and relates to a technique which allows an operator to be identified according to one multi-point slide performed by the operator on an electronic screen before unlocking. A system using the technique comprises a touch screen, an unlocking program and a gesture feature database. The unlocking program tracks slide features of multiple fingers of an operator on the touch screen, compares the calculated features with the gesture feature database, unlocks when the calculated features conform to gesture features of an authorized operator, and remains locking if not.
