194 results about "Process automation system" patented technology

A process automation or automation system (PAS) is used to automatically control a process such as chemical, oil refineries, paper and pulp factories. The PAS often uses a network to interconnect sensors, controllers, operator terminals and actuators. A PAS is often based on open standards in contrast to a DCS (distributed control system), which is traditionally proprietary. However in recent times the PAS is considered to be more associated with SCADA systems.

Commissioning devices for automation systems

Remote commissioning for an automation system enables a retailer to sell a new device to a customer pre-configured to work together with devices that are already a part of the user's automation system. Knowledge of how the devices are likely to be used at the automation system's location, a list of existing devices already installed and how they are configured, possible input from the customer, and the end user's current usage patterns are optionally used to configure the devices before they leave the store. Assisted local commissioning for an automation device enables an end user to commission devices themselves by simplifying the installation and commissioning process. The system uses a reference database of devices that includes information on how to commission the devices along with user-manual information and pictures for physical installation, and setup instructions so the system can walk a user through the process step by step.

System and a method for building routing tables and for routing signals in an automation system

The present invention relates to a wireless home automation system having a controller for controlling a broad variety of functions via two ways communication with a plurality of devices. More specifically, the invention relates to an improved and flexible way of routing signals from a controller to a device which includes the building of various tables such as routing tables. The improved and flexible way of routing allows the user to reach any device within the network with a high reliability. According to the invention, a processing unit of a controller is adapted to instruct a first device to discover other devices within its range by transmitting a signal comprising a device table holding device identifiers of devices controlled by the controller. The devices in the system are adapted to, upon instruction, perform a discovery of other devices within its range by transmitting discovery signals addressed to each device in the device table received from the controller. The devices save the identifiers of the device which acknowledges the reception of the discovery signals in a list indicating which devices of the device table it can reach and which it can not reach. The controller can at any time collect the saved list from a device to build a routing table.

System and method for updating user home automation systems

A system and method for automatically contacting one or more contacts when a user makes travel plans. A profile is used to determine to which contacts messages are sent. One of the contacts can be a home automation system that is registered with an email system to enter an at-home or a traveling environment based on the message. The home automation system receives instructions from the user's profile passed through an email system. Contacts can be grouped into classes of contacts so that each class receives an appropriate level of itinerary detail based upon the sensitivity level of the class. For example, a high sensitivity class may include the user's family and secretary. The high sensitivity class is sent detailed itinerary information regarding the user's travel plans. A medium sensitivity class may include business colleagues of the user. The medium sensitivity class may receive itinerary information including the user's travel destination but may not include detailed hotel and flight information. Finally, a low sensitivity class may include customers and clients of the user and may only receive a message that the user is away from the office without any detailed destination information.

Enabling object oriented capabilities in automation systems

The invention relates to systems and methods that support object oriented access to information at multiple levels in a control architecture, for example. Such data access can be facilitated as a layer adjacent to or part of an MES system or as a white box cooperating to encapsulate data such as in the controller or the MES layer, for example. In addition, such object oriented data access can be built into a controller as a standard behavior of controller data types and tags of those data types. In this manner, data can be encapsulated as a data object to expose properties and / or methods related to the data utilizing a common interface with each data consumer. Thus, the data consumer can employ object oriented concepts, such as properties, methods, scope qualifiers, access qualifiers (private, protected, public enterprise), polymorphism, inheritance and the like directly with their automation system components.

Robotics assisted production support utility

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for converting ubiquitous language instructions to robotic process automation executable action steps and executing the action steps. A managing system receives an encrypted user input from a computing device of the user, where the user input comprises instructions entered in ubiquitous language (e.g., common vernacular, or other non-complex programming language). The user input is decrypted and an action keyword is identified from the ubiquitous language instructions. The action keyword for each instruction is compared to a conversion database to determine a set of execution steps associated with each action keyword. These execution steps are in a format that enables a robotic process automation system to perform the execution steps. The set of execution steps is then transmitted to the robotic process automation system that automatically performs the set of execution steps through a workstation or other operating station of the user.

Coupling control method for temperature field in process of super-quickly cooling rolled moderate-thick plate

ActiveCN102652963ARealize coupling controlRealize high-precision settingTemperature control deviceAutomatic controlThick plate
The invention discloses a coupling control method for a temperature field in a process of super-quickly cooling a rolled moderate-thick plate, belonging to the technical field of automatic steel rolling control. A process automation system acquires a primary data input (PDI) parameter of a steel plate; each water flow density layer is subjected to temperature field simulation by adopting a coupling control algorithm of the temperature field, so that a cooling regulation is set and transmitted to a foundation automation system for exestuation; and furthermore, actually measured data (automatically acquired) of a meter on a rolling line are uploaded to the process automation system, so that the process automation system is triggered to correct and self-learn the cooling regulation. By using the method, specific heat and the temperature field are coupled, so that the problem of oscillation caused when the temperature field in a super-quick cooling process is simulated by the conventional finite element is solved; the temperature field of the moderate-thick plate super-quick cooling process can be resolved on line by successfully applying the coupling control method for the temperature field; and a cooling process can be set at high precision.

Long running workflows for document processing using robotic process automation

Systems and methods for executing a robotic process automation (RPA) workflow for document processing are provided. An input document is processed by a first robot executing one or more document processing activities of the RPA workflow. The document processing activities may include optical character recognition, digitization, classification, or data extraction. Execution of the RPA workflow is suspended by the first robot in response to a user validation activity of the RPA workflow. The user validation activity provides for user validation of the results of the one or more document processing activities. A user request that requests validation of the results from an end user is generated and the user request is transmitted to the end user. The execution of the RPA workflow is resumed by a second robot based on the validation received from the end user.

Robotic beacon device and system for remote triggering of events

Embodiments of the present invention provide a system for remotely triggering execution of events by a robotic process automation system in response to detection of a triggering signal. A set of executable events or actions may be received and stored for future processing, where the set of executable events are to be executed in direct response to a remote monitoring device or beacon detecting the presence of the triggering signal as it is emitted from a mobile device. The remote monitoring device is then instructed to scan a geographic area for the triggering signal. Once the remote monitoring device detects the triggering signal, an indication of the detection is automatically transmitted to the robotic process automation system. This robotic process automation system then automatically executes one or more events from the set of executable events through communication with one or more disparate devices or systems.
