Haptic Virtual Fixture Tools

ActiveUS20170106537A1Transform manipulation capabilityTime , expense and equipment be saveProgramme controlProgramme-controlled manipulatorVirtual robotMarine navigation
Apparatus and methods for defining and utilizing virtual fixtures for haptic navigation within real-world environments, including underwater environments, are provided. A computing device can determine a real-world object within a real-world environment. The computing device can receive an indication of the real-world object. The computing device can determine a virtual fixture that corresponds to the real-world object based on the indication, where aspects of the virtual fixture are configured to align with aspects of the real-world object. The computing device can provide a virtual environment for manipulating the robotic tool to operate on the real-world object utilizing the virtual fixture. The virtual fixture is configured to provide haptic feedback based on a position of a virtual robotic tool in the virtual environment that corresponds to the robotic tool in the real-world environment.

Response mode for control system of piloted craft

Frequency multiplexed command signaling that permits a single pilot command interface (e.g. control stick) to serve as a multiple response mode interface for piloting a craft conforms with natural interface operation of most pilots. Highly augmented modes receive lower frequency components of the command signaling, and less augmented modes receive higher frequency components. This avoids the requirement for pilots to switch response modes. An embodying control system can be produced by miming feedback control loops encoding the respective response modes in parallel, and multiplexing the command signaling to each response mode, filtering each copy of the command signaling respectively according the respective feedback control loop, and then combining the output of each feedback control loop to compute actuation demand.

Combustion chamber

The invention relates to a combustion chamber of a gas turbine, inside of which a supplied fuel is reacted with supplied combustion air in order to produce a working medium. The inside of the combustion chamber wall is provided with a lining formed from a number of heat shield elements. The or each heat shield element, together with the combustion chamber wall, forms an interior space that can be subjected to the action of a coolant. The aim of the invention is to provide a combustion chamber with a comparatively simple design that has a high system efficiency. To this end, the invention provides that a flow element is placed in the respective interior space while serving to effect a locally specific control of the flow of coolant.

Method and apparatus for thread transection of a ligament

A method and apparatus for transecting soft tissue, such as a ligament, and more particularly, the transverse carpal ligament. A retrieval tool and a threadlike cutting element enable the method to performed in a minimally invasive manner. The cutting element is routed into position about the target ligament such that the cutting element both enters and exits the body from the same side of the ligament. The smooth exterior surface of the cutting element serves to provide for a kerf-less cut.
