Slide assembly with positioning device

The slide assembly includes a first rail, a second rail, a bearing assembly and an engaging member. The first rail includes an opening located adjacent to an end thereof and a stop face is defined on a wall of the opening. The bearing assembly is located between the first and second rails. The bearing assembly has a bearing retainer which has a first contact portion. The engaging member is connected to the second rail and has a second contact portion and an engaging portion. The second contact portion is located corresponding to the first contact portion. When the second rail is pulled relative to the first rail, the bearing retainer is moved by engagement between the first and second contact portions. When the bearing assembly moves to a desired position, the engaging portion is inserted into the opening and contacts the stop face so that the second rail is engaged with the first rail.

A wave-power unit, and a use of a such

The invention relates to a wave-power unit for the production of electric power. It comprises a floating body arranged for floating on the sea and an electric linear generator with a stator (5) and a reciprocating translator (6). The stator (5) is arranged to be anchored in the bed of a sea and the translator (6) is connected to the floating body by connection means, The translator (6) is journalled in a plurality of roiling elements (15) such that a circumferential gap (14) is formed between the stator and the translator. According to the invention each rolling element (15) has an elasticity that is low enough to meet the condition that a change in the width (d) of the gap results in a change in the total force from the roiling elements (15) that is larger than the total magnet forces on the translator resulting from the change in width (d). The invention also relates to a use of the invented wave-power unit.

Rotating joint

Disclosed is a component providing rotational, translational and angular movement to a shaft inserted therein. The component has a housing with a bearing aperture, the bearing aperture having an aperture axis, an inner concave surface and a placement ring surface. A combination joint including a hollow bearing and a placement ring are located at least partially within the bearing aperture. The hollow bearing has an outer convex surface adjacent to and at least partially in contact with the inner concave surface of the bearing aperture. The hollow bearing also has an aperture with a cylindrical inner surface. The placement ring has an outer surface adjacent to and at least partially in contact with the placement ring surface of the bearing aperture and has an inner concave bearing race surface adjacent to and at least partially in contact with the outer convex surface of the hollow bearing aperture. A sleeve with a sleeve axis can be located within the aperture of the hollow bearing and has an outer surface adjacent to and at least partially in contact with the cylindrical inner surface of the hollow bearing. The sleeve is slidable within the hollow bearing and the hollow bearing with the sleeve therein can rotate about the sleeve axis and tilt about the bearing aperture axis. In this manner, a component is provided that affords rotational, translational and angular movement to a shaft inserted therein. A seal can be included to protect the combination joint from dust, dirt, debris and the like.

Linear roller bearing

A linear roller bearing has raceway elements, which are grouped around the central axis of the bearing, include rows of rolling elements distributed around a circle—as viewed in the cross section—and which are essentially parallel to each other and to the central axis of the bearing, the raceway elements being by enclosed in the circumferential direction by at least one connecting piece on at least one longitudinal section such that the raceway elements bear via the outer surface of the longitudinal section against a facing inner surface of the at least one connecting piece. The inner surface and the outer surface are curved biaxially and bear against each other in two dimensions, thereby resulting in a design similar to that of a ball joint.
