96 results about "Units of measurement" patented technology

A unit of measurement is a definite magnitude of a quantity, defined and adopted by convention or by law, that is used as a standard for measurement of the same kind of quantity. Any other quantity of that kind can be expressed as a multiple of the unit of measurement.

Method for converting units of measurement

A method for performing unit conversions. The method employs a calculating device comprised of an alphanumeric keypad and a display device. Required inputs include a numeric value, or an expression that can be evaluated as a numeric value, representing the quantity of the unit string to be converted from, an undesired unit string and a desired unit string. Each unit string can consist of a single unit or a plurality of units joined by arithmetic symbols. Units are entered by typing the full spelling of the unit name or the spelling of an alias name on an alphanumeric keypad. The method segregates the unit string into its component parts, specifically, unit names, positive and negative exponents, multiplication and division. Each numerator and denominator undesired unit is respectively converted to a numerator and denominator desired unit. All derived units which can not be converted are replaced with their equated unit string comprised of two or more other units which may be base units or other derived units. The conversion process continues until all numerator and denominator units are converted, or until there are no more derived units to substitute other units for. If all units are successfully converted, the conversion factors used in the conversion process are multiplied together and multiplied by the numeric input value. The result is then displayed.

System for quantificationally collecting trace gas in rock group inclusion and use method thereof

The invention discloses a system for quantificationally collecting trace gas in a rock group inclusion and a use method thereof, pertaining to the experimental field of geochemical investigation field. The system consists of a rock sealing and milling unit, a trace gas transfer unit and a trace gas metering unit, wherein a gas storage metering tube 503 and a water storage tube 504 in the trace gas metering unit are made of glass and a gas extraction screw nut 502 is made of organic glass and other plastics; the gas storage metering tube 503 has small inside diameters, uniform upper and lower inside diameters and the maximum internal volume of 500 microliters or 1,000 microliters, and the external of the gas storage metering tube is provided with scales (the measuring unit is microliter); the center section of the water storage tube 504 takes the shape of a drum; and a sealing gasket 501 is a solid cylindrical plate made from silastic. The invention solves the problems that trace gas can not be taken for analysis in a closed container under a low negative pressure status, transfer collection is uncompleted, gas is inconvenient to be taken for analysis and sequent quantitative and qualitative analyses on a plurality of items can not be carried out simultaneously in the prior art.

Monocular PD ruler

The present invention is a monocular pupillary distance (PD) ruler designed to help an eye care professional align the optical center of prescription eyewear with the patient's eye. The ruler is a planar body having an upper and a lower edge. A bridge is sized and shaped to fit upon the nose of a person being measured for eyeglasses. The bridge is located at a center point of the ruler. The ruler also includes units of measurements originating from the center point and measuring out from either side of the center point. The ruler may include a handhold extending from an end of the ruler. The handhold may be rotatable for ease of storage.

Method and Apparatus for Producing Full Synchronization of a Digital File with a Live Event

A method and apparatus are provided for producing full synchronization of a digital file with a live event. Using time-based cues such as musical beats, the live event is time mapped. The video file to be synced is measured in frames per second is then translated from its frames per second original time code into the time code of the live event in beats per minute making it possible to measure the playback rate of the source media file in the same units of measurement as the live event. The result is a playback mechanism that allows for more precise real time playback rate corrections by an operator by providing a visible cue so they can better keep the source media synced with the live event, even if there are real time tempo variations in the live event.

Method for removing mercury in flue gas using V2O5/carbon material catalyst

Disclosed is a method for applying a V2O5 / carbon material catalyst to remove mercury in flue gas, which comprises: feeding the catalyst into a fixed bed reactor, controlling the reaction temperature at between 120 and 180DEG C, and inputting atmospheric mercury-bearing flue gas, wherein, the concentration of mercury is 0.5 to 3070mu g / m<3>, and the air speed ranges from 10000 to 100000h<-1>; and the catalyst is the V2O5 / carbon material catalyst, and has the compositions, in weight percentage: 90 to 99.5 percent of carbon material, and 0.5 to 10 percent of vanadium oxide by taking V2O5 as a unit of measurement. The invention has the advantages of rather high catalytic oxidation removal capability to mercury, reducing the running cost and solving the secondary pollution.
