Touchless Sensor for Physiological Monitor Device

A device for monitoring heart rate and blood oxygen levels using improved pulse oximetry sensors. Pulse oximetry sensors function in either transmission mode or reflectance mode. The device of the present invention provides improved sensors functioning in transmission mode to be useful on anatomical structures with dense tissue, such as the wrist. Additionally, a combination of sensors are used to enhance the performance of monitoring devices using pulse oximetry technology. By combining sensors that function in transmission mode and reflectance mode, quality and accuracy of the monitoring device is enhanced. The data from the sensors are communicated with a microcontroller for analyzing the data. More accurate data collection translates to more accurate analysis using formulas or algorithms. The resulting analysis is conveyed to the user through a display, either digitally or in color.

Blood Analyte Determinations

The present invention comprises methods and apparatuses that can provide measurement of glucose and other analytes with a variety of sensors without many of the performance-degrading problems of conventional approaches. As apparatus according to the present invention comprises a blood access system, adapted to remove blood from a body and infuse at least a portion of the removed blood back into the body. Such an apparatus also comprises an analyte sensor, mounted with the blood access system such that the analyte sensor measures the analyte in the blood that has been removed from the body by the blood access system. A method according to the present invention comprises removing blood from a body, using an analyte sensor to measure an analyte in the removed blood, and infusing at least a portion of the removed blood back into the body. The use of a non-contact sensor with a closed system creates a system will minimal infection risk.

Non-contacting sensor for measuring relative displacement between two rotating shafts

A sensor for measuring the relative displacement between two rotating shafts. The sensor can sense a torque applied to the steering wheel of a vehicle. The sensor has a housing that has apertures at each end. The rotating shafts pass into the housing. A sensor assembly is located in the housing and connected to the shafts. The sensor assembly generates an electrical signal that is proportional to the relative rotational displacement between the shafts. An electrical connector is located in the housing and electrically connects with the sensor assembly. The sensor assembly has a planetary gear assembly that is connected to the shafts. A variable magnetic field generator is connected to the planetary gear assembly and moves proportional to the relative rotational displacement of the shafts. A magnetic field sensor is located adjacent the variable magnetic field generator and generates the electrical signal as the variable magnetic field generator moves.

Methods circuits device systems and associated computer executable code for facilitating interfacing with a computing platform display screen

Disclosed are methods, circuits, apparatus, systems and computer executable code for providing a multimode touchless human machine interface (TLHMI). The TLHMI may include one or more touchless sensors to sense a position or a movement of a subject portion within a sensing zone of the one or more sensors. Tracking logic may receive an output of the one or more sensors and may track a position or movement of a portion of a computing platform user within the sensing zone. A user input generator may convert an output of the tracking logic into signals indicative of a user input and may provide the user input signals to a functionally associated computing platform.

System and Method for Calculating Power Using Contactless Voltage Waveform Shape Sensor

A system and method are provided for calculating power using a voltage waveform shape measurement from a contactless sensor. An electrically conductive medium carries alternating current (AC) electrical current, associated with an AC voltage, from a source node to a destination node. AC current is measured through the electrically conductive medium. Using a contactless sensor, an AC voltage waveform shape is measured. The power usage at the destination node is calculated in response to the AC current measurement, the measurement of the AC voltage waveform shape, and an AC voltage potential. For simplicity, the AC current and AC voltage waveform shape may both be measured at a first node located between the source node and the destination node. The AC voltage potential used in the power usage calculation may be an estimate, an actual measurement, or a value supplied by an external source (e.g., the power utility).

Contactless intuitive seat adjuster control

A controller for selectively adjusting a power seat includes a seat adjuster including a base panel, a stepped panel extending laterally from a surface of the base panel, selector areas inclined with respect to and extending between the base panel and the stepped panel and along at least a portion of a periphery of the stepped panel. Multiple spaced depressions are formed on an outer surface of the selector areas. A contactless sensor is secured to an inner surface of the selector areas at each a depression, each sensor selectively producing a signal representing a seat adjustment function.
