The second video signal converter then converts the second color stimulus values into a second video signal based on property information of the display device. Liquid crystal panel and display including dichroic dye for absorbing yellow component of incident light

A liquid crystal panel has a pair of substrates disposed almost parallel to each other. On each of the substrates, an electrode and an alignment film are formed. A liquid crystal layer having a negative dielectric anisotropy is sandwiched by the substrates. In the absence of voltage applied across the electrodes, the molecules of the liquid crystal layer align almost perpendicular to the substrates. In this liquid crystal layer, a dichroic dye, preferably a blue dichroic dye, is added to absorb the yellow component of an incident light. Instead of adding the dye into the liquid crystal layer, a color compensation layer containing the dye is formed on or adjacent to at least one of the substrates. The yellow component of an incident light to the liquid crystal panel is absorbed by the color compensation layer. As a result, the liquid crystal panel and the liquid crystal display using the panel do not show yellow coloring when the panel is observed from oblique directions.

The invention discloses an image brightness and color balancing method and system for video stitching. The method comprises the steps of S1, acquiring two adjacent images to be stitched, calculating an image transformation matrix according to the two adjacent images to be stitched and setting an iteration suspensive condition; S2, determining the overlapping part of the two adjacent images to be stitched according to the image transformation matrix, and determining the brightness and color compensation coefficients of the images according to the brightness and color difference of the images with similar textures in the overlapping part; S3, adjusting the brightness and color of the two adjacent images to be stitched to obtain an adjusted image according to the brightness and color compensation coefficients of the images, and recalculating the image transformation matrix according to the adjusted image; S4, repeating S2 and S3 in sequence till the iteration suspensive condition is met, obtaining a final image transformation matrix and the brightness and color compensation coefficients of the final image, and saving the current original images to be stitched as reference images. The device comprises at least two LEDs that are operable to generate light of different colors that contribute to the emission product of the device. To measure the individual light contributions the controller is operable to interrupt, or at least change, light emission from one LED for a selected time period and during this time period to measure the intensity of the emission product of the device.
