An image data processor analyzes the acquired data representing the image to identify the medical device type by, analyzing the acquired data to determine a shape of the medical device, comparing the determined shape of the medical device with predetermined template shapes of known device types and identifying the medical device type in response to the shape comparison indicating a shape match. A data processor associates the identified medical device type with the data identifying the patient. An output processor initiates generation of data indicating an association of the identified medical device type with the data identifying the patient.

The system and method comprises a graphical user interface in communication with a health information system for accessing patient data. The graphical user interface is capable of displaying a clinical summary of patient data in a summary window in a textual format and a graphical format. The present invention teaches a bedside table with a disposable hygienic tray which has thereon multiple layers of film. Each layer of film in turn has adhesive, or anti-bacterial compounds, or bacterial detection compounds, or combinations thereof. A means of tightly controlling blood pressure in the acute care setting is elusive. Presently, the bedside nurse manages the rate of the intravenous blood pressure medication being infused. The invention seeks to allow continuous polling of the blood pressure, through telemetry monitoring, and adjust the rate of the intravenous antihypertensive nitroglycerin. The method algorithm allows for a set point of either mean arterial pressure (MAP) or systolic blood pressure (SBP) to be input. The nitroglycerin drip rate is then adjusted to maintain the set parameter range.

The present invention is directed to methods and devices for detection of cerebrospinal fluid leaks by detection of the CSF protein beta-2 transferrin. The microfluidic devices and methods of the invention combine capture and specific labeling of transferrin from a sample with a subsequent step of isoelectric focusing to separate transferrin isoforms for detection. Microfluidic channels and chambers are patterned on a substrate, designed so that on one region (i.e., a microfluidic channel or chamber) of the substrate transferrin is selectively captured from the sample and labeled, and in a second region of the susbstrate, transferrin isoforms are separated using isoelectric focusing. Detection of two transferrin bands, indicating the presence of beta-2-transferrin, indicates the presence of CSF in the sample. The devices and methods of the invention provide a safe, efficient, and ultrarapid modality with high specificity and sensitivity for the detection of CSF in the acute care setting.

An Apparatus that generates onsite three antimicrobial solutions by electrolyzing a dilute brine solution. At least one of the generated solutions can be used to dissolve protein, emulsify oils and fats making it an effective general purpose cleaner.
